THE chance to take his game to the next level under Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson has Mitchell Frei excited to join the Bondi club next season.
The Wynnum Manly Seagulls lock signed a one-year deal with the Roosters last month after two seasons in the Intrust Super Cup where he has been one of the most dominant forwards in the competition.

For me it was about looking at the way Trent had developed players in the past and in particular his backrowers, he said.
Hes got guys like Boyd Cordner, Aidan Guerra and Dylan Napa who are all great players in the NRL now and have really improved under Trent.
Because of that, Im really excited to go there for next season and just work hard, try and get better all the time and hopefully crack first grade.
The 23-year-old Albany Creek junior said developing in the Intrust Super Cup with the Seagulls had him ready to have a crack at the NRL.
Obviously getting to the NRL is always a goal but the Intrust Super Cup is a quality competition and you cant just expect to be picked up by an NRL club. You have to focus on your job for your team and just performing each week, Frei said.
Wynnum Manly coach Jon Buchanan said the signing was a great reward for the hard work Frei had put in over the past 18 months.
Theres no doubt that its great for him to join a powerhouse like the Roosters, he said.
Hes obviously got some quality NRL stars and origin forwards in front of him and he has areas he needs to work on and he knows that.
His strength is definitely carrying the footy, he can be a pretty dangerous player but the NRL is another level.
Frei said his focus was on winning a premiership with the Seagulls before he moves to the Roosters.
My time at Wynnum is probably the most Ive enjoyed my football, he said.
Theyre a great group of blokes, the club is great and has really helped me over the past two seasons. To go out with a premiership would be a great way to finish.
