yeah nah.. What you need to understand is we offered RTS $525K as a final offer, however this would have meant losing Maloney, Moa and probably Toops. We missed RTS then offered most of this money to Maloney which also meant losing Moa and Toops. We missed Maloney and now we can probably keep Moa and Toops. You can't keep adding up the money we offered to RTS and Maloney, it was the same money.

This is exactly as I see it. We also used some of the money we offered RTS (which he rejected) to re-sign SKD too I think. There were many rumours doing the rounds that SKD / Toops and Maloney would need to be cut to re-sign RTS. Of those four, RTS was the club's first choice. He rejected our offer (and it wasn't a massive one) and that left SKD, Toops and Jimmy. Jimmy was waiting to see the DCE outcome with Manly so delayed his re-signing. So we then re-signed SKD. That left only Maloney and Toops to 'allocate' the last bit of money to. Maloney chose the guppies so Toops will now get what's left and you would assume after that there is only a small amount left over.
I'm not sure where the Moa rumour fits in, or if it is actually true. Perhaps we need to release him to make a depth signing in the halves or fullback areas to cover the huge losses of both Maloney and RTS.
