*Or is it that the players are now not listening to Smith and do what ever they want to do?
Without being in the dressing room, i cannot answer if it is the game plan, if the players are not listening or if it was plays out of the blue.

I think more to the point it is a mental thing, last year they were pulling off the fancy plays and they were coming off, we could score when we wanted and from where ever we wanted............Now, we couldn't score a root in a brothel with a fist full of $50's (not for the lack of trying)

it appears they are trying to force the issue, force the points out of their play without any real control over the ball, and i don't mean ball handling, i mean building the pressure on the opposition, forcing the repeat sets.

When you get into a negative rut, it appears that murphys law kicks in, what ever can go wrong will go wrong......thats when you need to take it to the basics.

As to the Game plan, not privy to Brian smiths actual game plan, it appears that the players start off with the game plan, but when it goes wrong, heads drop and then they try different things, communication drops and it looks as though players don't know the person next to them.

This is just my opinion, we have a team, basically the same team as last year that worked their way to the grandfinal. We have the skill, we just need to bring it back to basics, play the high percentages, build the confidence, get the wins, once that is back up to an accepable level and the confidence in the team and each other (the players) then get adventurous.

Muz, confidence is key. Unfortunately losing is a habit just like winning. The upside is that we are getting close but not able to close out. If the club keeps its head up, the wins will come - unfortunately it may be too late for this season.

thats my point, the confidence is down, focus and patience are waining..........what better way to get back on track than to get back to basics, learn to focus and like you said, the wins will come.

Right!!! But why are you and many here saying it? Even the Footy shows are saying it. Is it not obvious to Smith that what your saying is what's needed? For a few minutes last night, I was content in playing BORING as long as we got the two point. Needless to say that they were BORING because they didn't know what to do...it wasn't tactics, just all at sea.

But this team was not built on boring - you can't just change the whole approach when a team has been training a certain way for 18 months.
