The possibility of Moa leaving has been there for months. McDonald is simply rubbish so no loss there. That said the first player I would be letting go is Jennings, he would be on $500K + and the only time he gets the ball is from dummy half hit ups. We no longer seem to want to use him in space and he seems to lack interest out there as well. We just have too many players on big coin in non key positions.. Highly paid backrowers and Centres.

We need to be realistic and realise that the majority of our players will have had substantial increases in any contract they have signed since 2013. Which all bites into what we have available under the cap. Many who were nothing more than first graders when they last signed are now premiership winners, State and Aus players and their pay packet will rise accordingly when their new contracts kick in next year.
Ferguson won't be looking to sign up for another low dollar contract - he will be commanding and getting top dollar if he signs. And the pommie bloke won't be coming for chicken feed either.
We definitely can't afford a Folau or Hayne. And we'll be lucky to keep Jimmy if he chooses to take the best offer available.
Unlike many clubs, the majority of our cap is spread pretty evenly across our roster. Sure there are top, middle and lower tiers, but there is not a 'marquee' player like a DCE at Manly or the big 3 at the Storm, where a huge chunk of the cap is gifted to a chosen few.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

So we never intended to re-sign RTS and Maloney? And we always intended to release Moa, if it happens?
If the answer is yes, your argument makes sense given we re-signed Napa, Guerraand JWH beforehand.
If the answer is no and we did intend to re-sign them, then there's just shy of 1m in cap space sitting on the sidelines.

I don't think we intended to sign Maloney but we changed our minds (but I still think he will go).
Same with SKD. I am sure some of Roger's money went there.
I think Moa's card was stamped when Napa got a new contract.

Unless of course he has a drinking problem...

So Penwiff are signing Merrin and Moa and Nene???
Don't they have some talented young pigs as it is, and some great young outside backs???
With Kite leaving I can understand Merrin, but our two blokes, doesn't make much sense.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

How they have any cap left is beyond me.

More concerned about Nene tbh.
We can survive without Moa, as Napa is a certain future starter. Even if Moa moves past this year's form slump, he's 28 which means he only has a couple of years left in him.
I think that Nene is very underrated and could be a gun player if moved to the centres or FB. Wing isn't his position. With RTS gone next year, I am surprised that he wasn't mentioned as an alternative.Comment of the year:
Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,
"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"
