Nene = no loss. I love Moa but I feel he has done his job with us. I believe he isn't going to improve and is actually a good ' release' in the scheme of things.
Totally agree though we must have a big signing done and dusted. Yes we have resigned/upgraded players but we would still have plenty of cash. Uncle Nick definitely won't stand for losing so many rep players without bringing someone in.

Moa would be a huge loss. Even though he's down a bit down on form he is still an integral part of this side.. Nene & Tupou will not really be missed.

RTS, Maloney, Moa... such horrific cap management when you match us against the likes of Souffs, Broncos, Dogs and Cowboys.

A couple of very average years are ahead.
Why? We must be preparing way for some signings I hope. Souths just added Paul Carter to their squad for this year, they seem to be adding players while we are releasing.

It is inevitable we are going to lose players that we would think wouldn't leave but that's the way the salary cap works. Now it's about our youngsters stepping up and bringing in required players so we can still challenge for years to come.

I wouldn't say that we will have average years.

We will be very competitive even with the players left over.

It's very rough to criticise our cap management. We are the best in the game at it.

Unfortunately as your players increase in value you have to lose some of them.

The rules keep changing and it's highly probable interchange will be down to 6 for next season so probably going to need one of our props to be a Tolman workhorse type....they are pretty much all impact frontrowers at the moment and only JWH (at his fittest) has a 50+ consecutive minute stint in him.

                I think it'll go to 8 before 6.

It would be too much of a change otherwise.

I dont know how they can now decrease the interchange number, given whats happened this year with the concussion rules and the mandatory replacements of affected players.

Why would we pay another club 200k to take moa while still under contract and short on quality in the front row?

Hope the last couple of years hasn't put us in a storm or dogs predicament.

Losing Moa is bad. BBQ, RTS, Toops = real bad.

So next year it's looking like there'll be no RTS, Maloney, Moa and Toops. Now I know Toops is on peanuts but collectively that's a huge hole in the cap. Especially on the back of SBW, Mini and FPN with only Fergo coming in.

We simply must be signing Folau. That's the only logical solution.

We had money set aside for RTS and Maloney, and a few hundred k invested in Moa for 2016... so that leaves us about 1m spare.

It's either Folau or staggering, sackable incompetence.

I heard today that folau has committed to the ARU for beyond the world cup.

I'd like to think we've signed up a Jarryd Hayne or Folau but most likely it's just a case of the salary cap biting.
The salary cap rewards mediocrity and penalises success.

But we intended to re-sign RTS. And we had an offer on the table for Maloney, surely. I also doubt we intended to release Moa all along.

So what's happened to all that money? The other re-signings just don't factor into it imo.

I personally think the club has stuffed up massively and we're going to have egg all over our faces next year.

Losing RTS was the biggest kick in the teeth our fans have ever had from a player retention/recruitment point of view. And the potential losses of Maloney and Moa would be the icing on the cake.

                                2. Burgess
                                3. Jennings
                                4. SKD
                                5. Mitchell
                                6. Hastings
                                7. Pearce
                                8. JWH
                                9. Friend
                                10. Napa
                                11. Cordner
                                12. Guerra
                                13. Liu

                                14. Evans
                                15. Meehan/Leuluai
                                16. Taukieaho
                                17. Aubusson

Very talented, but let's be honest it's a disaster in terms of the rate we'll be forced to bring the youngsters through. Still good enough for 6th-8th if we're lucky, but certainly not a GF appearance. Oh well, such is the insipid constraints of the salary cap.
