Our main problem is lack of props. But that doesn't matter in this game because they don't have any props either.
What are the chances of it being dry though JT?

If it stops raining in the next 5 minutes, I'm not sure it would have dried out by the weekend.

Agree with you on the win though. St George are winning, but they haven't looked that flash in attack.

I have just booked my ticket & flight to come to the game - always wanted to go to an Anzac game. Was going down with a mate (dragons supporter) but he said he couldn't afford it so I wasn't going either. Anyway I just decided to hang the cost so I'm going by myself. Flying out of the new Toowoomba airport.

      It's called experience.

The Panthers game was definitely one that we shouldn't have slipped, though we probably wouldn't had Casty's fairt try been awarded. It is plain to see though that it has become much harder to win those close games as we are not getting any breaks in the second half of matches. I also don't think contract uncertainty is helping or Pearce taking on the captaincy burden.
We did, although it was through as much sheer luck as anything else. Had the cowboys player got his hand out of the way quickly enough we were gone.

There are plenty of fine reasons why we haven't gone that well to start the year. I just worry that those reasons aren't going to go away, especially when quite a few of them are out of our control like the insanely bad hand we are being dealt by referees and our injury/suspension list. We don't have the playing talent or belief to overcome those sorts of things like we did in 2013.

Even if we lose this week the season is hardly out of reach, especially since the rest of the competition is so weak. I just hope to god the 2013-2015 period doesn't wind up like the 2002-2004 period. 03-04 took so much of the sheen off of 02 in my memory.

I hope you have a safe flight. I'll be checking out that airport myself next time I go home to visit all the relatives. Forecast is for all of this frightening wind and rain to be well gone.

Will be very interesting to see who the officials are appointed to our match this week. I'm guessing the senior ref will be either Cummins, Cecchin, Klein or Badger and none of them is a good pick. We've been royally done over by all of them one time or the other. I think it will either be still no penalties in the 2nd half as a 'get that up ya' signal from the refs or we'll get a few early ones. If it's the latter, then they are almost admitting that they've been up to no good in the past.

As for the match, we really need to sort out our last play options. I thought earlier in the season we had a good mix of bomb, grubber or run on the last and thought we had moved on from the bomb's away option. Unfortunately in the last few rounds we've reverted back to our old ways. I'm expecting big games from Napa & Moa and Friend thrives in these matches. On the back of this I hope our attack can click this week. We're due.

              Great to hear Dirty Harry.

This is the best day on the RL calendar and being at the game is an event...not just a footy match. Very special.

Rain stops the day before and the ground is pretty good at draining out. Hopefully it's dry.

Lol! Gotta love Kegs Father in Law.

I will be there, I was due to fly overseas a week or so ago but postponed it until 27 April so I can get to the game at one stage I was going to fly overseas on holiday fly back especially for the game and resume the holiday afterwards but that would have been silly but that is how much this game means to me.

It is the highlight of the year for me and only is eclipsed by a preliminary final or grand final. As others have said, it is much more than a game of Rugby League, and especially to those of us who have either served or had members of the family serve.

So the Dragons are now the defensive benchmark! Accordingly, that should mean that they are dominating the ruck area and we all know that to do that you have to push the limits as to holding down, wrestling etc. Therefore, you would think they should be attracting more defensive penalties. However, stats show they are one of the more disciplined teams. When we established ourselves as the defensive benchmark, we got hammered. Will be interesting to see what happens this weekend and over time.

They didn't get hammered in the 2010 GF.
And they sure could get penalised plenty of times in games, but don't.

They are being financially assisted by the NRL [according to the newspaper of about 13/4/2015]...another 'failed' club.

Financially assisted [or owned] by the NRL...along with Knights, Titans, and Wests Tigers.

Yep, we seem to get bashed/hammered for being financially astute and successful.

Have a safe trip buddy! I'm off to lay a red rose for my Dad at the Cenotaph in Martin Place. I'm lucky I work close by and the rain has now gone. I always associate red roses with Anzac Day and now they have brought out a Gallipoli Centenary Rose in memory of those who have served. Most of my work colleagues follow the Dragons but we put aside our petty squabbling at this time because it's just too important a day as you said. We are proud both our clubs are the chosen ones for this special day.
