1) He argued with the NRL that he should play for QLD (less than a month into his first season of 1st grade... not putting the guy down but that's like Hastings saying he's gonna be Origin quality and arguing all the politics of it before.) Clearly, Keary was not goong to replace Cronk, DCE, JT...etc last year so it was a weird battle that has probably ruled out any hopes of NSW wanting him.
2) His size and defence don't suit Origin IMO. He looks a bit like a smaller version of Bill Shorten and is regularly targetted by big forwards. To his credit he gets straight up after big hits (so he's tougher than Glenn Stewart) but I dunno. Massive liability when the forwards are evenly matched IMO.

Doesn't matter who NSW pick, they have no chance this year.
All Queensland's hunger will be pack and without Hayne, their spine is better than ours in every position.
I think it will be one of the more comfortable series for them in a while

Our halves lack composure when the pressure is really on. As hard as it is to accept, Adam Reynolds is probably the best clutch halve in the NRL and if he wasn't injured would be the first guy I would throw in there. I know heaps of people don't rate him here, but that is due to the colour of his jersey. He wants the ball when the game is on the line and rarely panics, Pearce certainly doesn't and Maloney has a tendency, particularly in the last couple years to not know what to do and generally either takes the wrong option or spill the ball....

Funny enough - Hodkinson, the worlds most plodding half stepped up with a special moment of his own in game 2.
I think it was more an element of surprise as no one, including himself, thought that he was capable of it.
