Realistically I imagine we would only need to cut maloney to keep rts. Or even skd and toops. But certainly not all 3. I think if maloney has a few more poor games that the board might decide to pull the trigger.

there is an article on fox sports about hodgkinson being worth 750K.

So if steven bradbury is worth 750k , then its safe to assume RTS will be worth a minimum of 800k. player prices have inflated this season.
        Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Anyone who pays more then $400k for Hodkinson is retarded.

I found that article interesting being that it was supposedly about hodkinson and loyalty and that he was taking unders to stay at Canterbury because he loves the club.. But then it said that if he was offered over 750k elsewhere he'd consider.. So he wants to be known for loyalty.. Unless a really big offer comes.. Can't have it both ways?

                Poor game?
                Baaah!

He scored that great try against the Broncos...and kicked great goals.
Send RTS packing...can't tackle...and keep Jimmy, SKD, and Toups.

If you want "can't tackle" stop at Maloney. His defence the last few weeks has been shocking - including letting through the winning try last week.

Look at what happened at Manly with Cherry-Evans (and he didn't even stay in the end). It has destroyed their club.

I reckon Pearce would be on very close to $800K already, as would JWH from next year. Guerra would be $500K+ also, as would Jennings. The days of $400-500k being the high point of your player salaries are long gone.

You just pulled those figures out of your arse Danish. Honestly, as if you have a clue.

Jennings' panthers salary was well documented at around $650K. He didn't come to us for peanuts, and given he left the panthers as already one of the premier centres in the game we would have had to pay close to market value for him at the time. No way he is on under $500K.

Guerra and JWH only re-signed in the past 12 months, both as dominant rep-level players in their positions and also fielding HUGE offers from elsewhere. Again, they ain't tossing out millions just to stay with us. both are $600+K players on the open market, although JWH had huge overs being tossed at him so that would have pushed his price up.

Pearce? His salary is reported regularly as being around the $700K mark. Given Sezer got $500K to play for the Raiders, I shudder to think what his next contract will be worth. Elite halves like Thurston and Cronk would be worth $1.2 million on the open market right now given DCE got $1 million. Pearce could probably get $900K if he were signing a contract this season.

You are way off with your salary estimates.

But no different from all the others who have no clue as to how to manage the cap and say pay this player X and go after that player for Y.

And what are your estimates oh wise one?

As an example, what do you think Jennings is on?

I think some of those estimates could be close overall but nobody knows what cap space they take as we don't know what third party payments are included.

Pearce is also eligible for the Long Serving Player Allowance.

So really none of us would know how much each player would use in our salary cap unless Brian Canavan is amongst one of you.

Time someone stuck a pin in the balloon.

The Bears reportedly paid 10 players $100,000 [back then] too much per season for 4 seasons...and as a result went broke and out of business.
