Why wasn't Morris given a penalty from the final kickoff when taken out illegally?

Can't endorse the end reaction from Bulldogs fans but gee...I can understand the anger.
Yes can't endorse the reaction of the Dog fans either but can understand why it happened, that ending was beyond belief, the refs should be sacked after that and never be able to officiate any game ever again. I just hope the Dogs fans don't carry on any further though trashing trains and taking their frustrations out on anyone on the way back home.

        Drop Goal 10.
        (a) If a player fouls an opponent who is attempting a drop goal, a penalty kick shall be awarded in front of the goal posts.
        (b) If the attempt at drop goal is successful, a kick at goal must be taken from the penalty kick and play re-started from the centre of the halfway line irrespective of the outcome of that kick.
        (c) If the attempt at drop goal is unsuccessful, the penalty kick can be taken in any manner provided for in the Laws and play re-started according to the outcome of that kick.

Klemmer should get 6 weeks and Graham 3 for good measure.

Bulldogs fans are disgraceful. In a day and age where we have so much controversy at junior games, to see that at thet highest level is disgraceful.

Dogs should have a blackout game at the next home game as punishment.

The better team lost but that is no excuse for behaving like animals.

Also that penalty try was 100% correct.

            Thanks Mr Mcguire.

Yes lets encourage players to run up and intimidate the referees with obscene language and invade their personal space. The referee was quite clearly rattled because of it.

Great example you're going to set.

Spot on my friend. Now maybe people will stop telling me that I was crazy for saying that the 'Keys to the City Ceremony' for them at the Town Hall was in the planning stages way back in August 2014, 2 months out from the grand final. I predicted it back then and I made a work colleague write it in his diary that the Vermin had already been given the premiership. Since then, no-one has ever doubted my word. I have no idea what everyone is talking about regarding today's match as I don't actually watch any games but ours, but I'll make a point of watching the 'lowlights' package on the T-box..I just wanna watch my own team for 80 minutes a week and enjoy it. Is it that hard to have such a simple pleasure anymore?

Invasion of Referees personal space has definitely been a huge issue in the game for years. Good to see someone's cracking down on the hard issues that the media cover up.

Who cares about Inglis? He wasnt involved in that spectacle. classic whataboutism.

Graham and Klemmer especially went too far. It was disgraceful. Kudos to that ref standing his ground and ultimately making the right decision.

Iam not sure what all the fuss is about. The 8 point try was a blatant kick to the head by Brett Morris trying to kick the ball out of Luke's hand as he attempted to ground the ball.
The James Graham incident was unlucky but bt the rules it is a penalty, much like an accidental high shot. The worst call was the penalty to Inglis after he dropped the ball cold on the 5th but it amounted to nothing.
                              ...

[SPOILER WARNING OR WHATEVER... DON'T GET OFFENDED THAT I'VE TOLD YOU WHAT HAPPENED IN THE GAME IN A THREAD ABOUT THE GAME BLAH BLAH BLAH...]

Graham acted like a farkwit (is lucky he didn't get binned for his reaction.) However, the Doggies were robbed. 100% Of Souffs' points were penalties, and 100% of them had a huge amount of ref's descretion involved.

P!ssing down with rain... a big guy slips and boots another guy while trying to save a try. There really are 2 ways of reading it... accident with no malice or I don't give a fark, contact was made and I'm calling a penalty. To me the controversy was that he didn't call a penalty! He didn't kick Morris off and say 'RIGHT YOU'RE WALKING THAT WAS A DISGRACE!!!!' He put him on report (essentially saying 'I don't know if there was a penalty there') then awarded an 8-pointer. Makes no sense to me.

Later on Graham went in for a tackle and Reynolds booted the ball at his head. He braced himself, slipped forward and unfortunately slipped onto the kicker's leg 'after' the kick (IMO it was all in the motion and he slipped so could do nothing about it.) Contact is hard and on his legs. Graham then stopped the game, made sure the kicker was okay and prevented his team from gaining any advantage from the man being down (if there was malice, his intention woulda been to take the guy outta the game.) 2 Schools of thought... accident, he slipped, the kick was $hit anyway. Or... I said no legs, penalty from right in front [not from where the alleged penalty occurred.]

One thing is for certain, the refs haven't forgotten how to stop Souffs from losing. IMO a second loss woulda really hit Souffs' confidence. Instead they get 2 undeserving points while Morris and Graham go on report for nothing. IMO if either are cleared, there should be a review process that allows the points scored as a result of the 'penalties' to be removed.
