Manly about to offer Maloney big $

In any case I don't think Jimmy will be signing anything until we see what happens with foran. Which means hopefully we get the absolute best out of Jimmy in the meantime as he's playing for his salary. However, if foran goes as is suggested, it will be next to impossible to keep Jimmy. Manly will throw the sink to get at least one top tier half. Hard to compete if we are offering around 450-550 and they'd have the money to double that. Hell I wouldn't stay anywhere for double my salary elsewhere.

Hastings fell off the bench this week... can we read into that, or was it just a different tactic for the night?

IMO Watmough was telling it how it is when he said there's a toxic culture at Manly. You don't lose Watmough, DCE, Stewart and (possibly) Foran for no reason. Couple of years back George Rose was saying the same stuff... crowd favourite who was willing to play for nothing and they didn't even negotiate with him.

I wonder what's going through Maloney's mind. IMO he's part of the Central Coast connection... wife's from there, they met there, family there... I reckon he'd love to stay with the Roosters. However, he's a valuable player and could retire within 5 years. Does he want to run off to England for the money while his kids are hitting school age...etc? I dunno. I suspect he wants stability and commitment. I don't think being Manly's fill-in after they've failed to secure DCE and Foran is a good career move. He'll pair up with some chump, have big Willie running away from big forwards (dropping them on Jimmy) and be part of an inevitable downturn in Manly's form after they've magically held onto a premiership-grade team for the better part of the last decade.

Just don't Jimmy!! And Nick... get off your bum, and offer the man a decent contract!! Forget what Horrie's whispering into your ears, his Son has to work hard like everybody else if he wants a spot. He'll get his chance soon, but for now Jimmy's our #1 man!

How many times have we seen Maley identify slow forwards in the ruck, throw the big left foot step , slice right through, draw the fullback and put someone in. Does it with regulatity but knows when to pick his moment. Try it too much and the defence wiises up. Did it again last night.
I really do hope we resign this guy.
