I can't see us retaining Jimmy Maloney unfortunately. He is 28 and I'm sure Manly if they lose both playermakers will throw him 800k easily. I can't see us getting anywhere close to that.

Interesting to see that Nick supposedly wants SKD to be a rooster for life. I feel he will be great for us on the wing this year, and his partnership with Ferguson could be quite exciting over the next 5 or so years.

No mention of RTS in the article off-contract however. That's another piece of the puzzle to be considered.

Maloney is must to keep at least for another 2 years till Hastings develops more, its going to be interesting on who we keep and who moves on.

We can't hold on to all our players so if manly are going to offer him big money, I can see him going because he has a family to provide. We can always throw Hastings in the deep end and hope it works out in the long run.

Totally agree mate. The lack of respect given to SKD by many is disappointing. I would love to see him play out his career at the Roosters.

If it came to a decision of turfing SKD and using part of that money to top up Maloney's offer would would you be so against letting him go then... I doubt it.

Hopefully Manly can keep either Foran or DCE, and then go for Sezer instead who i believe is also off contract. It would be a big blow to lose Jimmy, he compliments Pearce's game perfectly and i'm not sure if Hastings will be ready this time next year. Another 2 years with Jimmy would be perfect.

I don't think it's possible to Maloney. Even though he wants to stay (and why wouldn't he).

SKD will probably go too. We want to keep him but he will be offered centre money. We can only pay winger money for him. A big difference. If he stays it will cost him a lot of money.

The Pelican is spot on. Maloney compliments juniors game so well. I'm a big Maloney fan. Defensively has made a huge improvement. Great goal kicker. Great support player.

But if Foran and DCE go I don't think we have a hope in hell of retaining him. Family first tho so can't blame him.
