I really like reading all your comments fitzy.

But you've lost the plot if you want to compare a kid just starting out his first grade career not on big money (symonds) with someone has been our marquee player for the last 5 years who has all the experience in the world behind him who should be at the peak of his powers (anasta).

I expect a whole lot more from anasta than symonds at this stage of their careers.
      a chance.

Nah I agree about Anasta's performances in the past as a 5/8 on big money he hasn't got the job done.

I just think some are being unfair to him, he played very good at the end of last year. He has played pretty well this season as well.

It is unfair to compare Symonds and Maubs to Anasta. That said, they are all professionals and I think Anasta has been as good if not better than Symonds and Maubs.

I think Maubs has been disappointing this season.

Looking to next year if Anasta stays with us he should be on $200,000 max. I would hate to lose Symonds because Anasta is getting overs.

I would hate to lose symonds fullstop. He must be one of the first backrowers along with cordner & BJ who are signed long term.

Unfortunately it seems our idiot coach doesn't rate symonds as highly and is trying to make BJ into a winger when he clearly isn't one.

In the 5 years Anasta has been with us he hasn't played more than 20-30 good games for us. He's not really providing us with bang for our buck. He is supposed to be a top shelf player who provides, leadership, direction and focus. This year he has been a passenger for all but one game.

Other than the finals game against the Tigers last year and a golden point game against the Tigers (2007 I think, where Amos Roberts scored the winning try) how many other times has Braith stood up and taken a game by the scruff of the neck and got us across the line when the game is in the balance. More often than not he tries a miracle play that usually ends in EPIC FAIL!!!

We never should have re-signed him, he is a luxury we cannot afford. If we lose Tom Symonds, Boyd Cordner, Leilua, Linnett, Arona or Tasi because of it then that will be a total in justice. Braith has become our Michael Clarke.......(i.e. over rated, under achieving, golden child)

I'm sure Braith is a really great guy, he certainly seems like it but I personally think he has over stayed his welcome.

                  .
Its easy to forget Braith was signed as our Marquee playmaker. He was supposed to carry the team in the same way a Lockyer, Campese, Marshall massively influences theirs. That he is now playing second row and producing pitiful impact in that position is a testament to how bad a signing he has always been.
Just remember,,for the 5 years Bwaiff has been here,,,,how many players have we lost because of the cap he eats away at?

                    I'm calling one right here.

Amos Roberts. He was a try scoring freak, still is.

I often think hyperbolic thoughts about how many tries he would have scored with Carney throwing passes to him.
