Watmaugh intentionally drove 50km over the limit in a high resdential area hence the 50km speed limit and nothing. WTF!
If you believe that Stewart sexually assaulted a 17yo girl - then yes, you are right.

The court found him not guilty though. Personally I agree.

Agree in the case of Watmough though - this is the reason Hasler is a hypocritical whinger - not because of Stewart.

with or without the sexual assault its still different. Im not being bias im usually an objective person but this reaction by people to what carney has done is really starting to shit me.

I think most of the negativity toward Carney is from the News Ltd media outlets (and obviously bitching Manly coaches!). Most supporters from other clubs think the Carney thing is an overreaction. TBH, if it was a fringe first grader with a clean record, it would not have even made Bec and Buzz's Sunday drivel. Carney sells papers - whether its scoring try's or on the piss. I hope he is on the back page again on the 12th of March for the former!

I'm just going to say this.

Much like O.J. Simpson the first time around (when he stabbed his ex-wife and her boyfriend to death) just because you get found not guilty doesn't mean you didn't do something. I think Des Hasler should keep that in mind and keep his mouth shut.

He's just lucky we don't have the charge of violating a person's civil rights in this country.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Well I probably could have but I couldn't be bothered

Let's also not forget that JT got away with the same offense twice.

redwhiteandbluetill_i_die Watmough was caught speeding at 130kms in an 80kms zone and did not display his P-plates. He will lose his license as will Carney. The point I have made before that seems to have been lost in all this is if you were walking the streets which one would you be more aware of, someone driving at 0.05 alcohol level or someone travelling at 130kms? Reporters love to get the reactions out of people such as Hasler but if they were decent reporters, they would ask him a question like that. If 0.05 was believed to be putting peoples lives at risk then it would be higher. Of course, I am not condoning what Carney did as I have a kid who just got his P-plates and I am telling him how much of an idiot Carney was but if he got booked doing 130kms, he would be considering LARS on both knees.

                RWBtil-i-die,

You've hit the nail on the head, thank you! That to me is the major difference.....different circumstances.
Furthermore, Gallop won't admit it but in retrospect, he got it wrong suspending him for 4 weeks.

On that note, what's Carney's nickname? On Wikipedia it says Pisshead is his nickname? I'm guessing not...

I think his Wikipedia page has been Tony Windsor'ed.

Says that he was knocking off a reporter from Channel 7, Elizabeth Cantor.

I agree. The whole kerfuffle with Bird is an example of this.
As I said in another post....what happened to Watmough after he punched a sponsor at the same function?
