He is a Roosters man but by the same token has learnt to be impartial .

Ron Massey's son Paul is Wayne Bennetts football manager and was sitting in the box as well on GF day.

          Mental edge

You would agree that Smith appeared to change his coaching style a bit last year which resulted in rapid success.
As you require the players to have the right attitude .The coach needs the right skills.
I could be wrong and he is ok.
Im only sitting on the fence.
Usually you get the right coaching blend in the staff that breeds success and it aint easy.
I'll guess this and say any GF that the old fella has been involved in has probably resulted in victory.
An old wise man with a belly full of experience can come in handy>The mental edge
Besides that he's a funny bastard too.
Im no coach advisor mate its just some thing I would like to see happen.
League is really a genuine people's game it breeds family.Massey is one of the family-I say pick his brains.

he is nearly 100 and i dont think he even lives in sydney. if brian smith cant with a premiership with the cattle he has then ron massey is not going to be the answer.

do you actually know anything about football in the modern game. coaches dont need mentors unless they are young! no i wouldnt swap the cattle but i'd swap the coach but not for massey. cant even believe you are suggesting him..... did you not see is almost 100 and retired long ago???

if smith goes the same way as every other club he has been with i dont think he will be around for long (and he has never finished a contract)

Well Im hoping Smith continues his good work regardless.
All Im saying is Massey would have some thing to offer him that I am sure of.

Don't be so quick to bag Coach Smith. He has been great for the club and there is no reason to suggest that his best with the Roosters is already behind him.

I hope he does well but his track record makes me nervous

You're a tosser mate. Support the coach until there is a real reason not to.

i do support the coach and the team - as i said hope he stays and has changed - im a realist though.....My opinion so it differs from your deal with it.

Obviously by friend the no brain thinks smith isnt up to it either by wanting to bring in a pensioner on the books. Is he a tosser too??
