Rumours coming out of the Sydney Roosters camp is that former St George Illawarra player and coach, Nathan Brown, will return to the NRL in 2012 as an assistant coach for the Sydney Roosters.

Current Roosters coach Brian Smith coached Brown back in his playing days before the Dragons merged with Illawarra.

Brown signed a 3 year deal with English Super League team, Huddersfield Giants, the same club Tigers superstar Brett Hodgson joined. He is off contract at the end of 2011.

Brown has excelled during the past 2 years in the UK. In his first season at Huddersfield, he took the team to the 2009 Challenge Cup final.

No thanks to Nathan Brown. And this rumour makes no sense because I reason that he would not accept a role as an assistant coach after being a head coach in ESL.

Ron Massey hasn't been anyone's assistant for a long time. He's a very old man now. Bennett will talk to him from time to time and that is why he was in the box on GF day with him, but he's not physically capable of being a day to day assistant coach. So in this instance...no the club is not 'farken dumb' and maybe they do know a bit more than us supporters.

Fair enough I may be out of touch with Rons work ....but I have sat down with him many times he has a great football mind..............what ever advice he can give Smith it just may assist him win a comp.
But didnt it shit you to see a Roosters man in a box with Benneton GF day ?
I know Ronny doesnt owe us any thing but I believe he can give Smith the edge he has been missing as a coach.

I don't see him as a Roosters man. He was Gibbo's right hand and hence went wherever he went, so he spent just as much time at Parra and other places as he did with us. I don't even know whether he supports any team or just has a general love of the game.
