Tell me how Johns was a superior player?....How many times did he captain his state or country? Played about half the time and nowhere near as many games as Fittler either! When Freddy got in the mood and started yahooing and firing his team mates up, you just knew the opposition was in for a tough arvo.... I don't care what anyone says.... I seen them both and i rate Fittler streets ahead of the raver!

Johns didnt captain the rep sides very often because of endless injurys, whilst ever he was available he was picked! He was the best player from the last 30 years ahead of Fitler, he won more grand finals than fitler, the winning strike rate Newy had when he was playing was exceptional and to top it off he is second leading point scorer ever, if he wasn't injured so frequently he would have a lot more points than el masri himself.

You can rate him ahead of Joey all you like, but the only people that think lol fitler is better than johns are Roosters fans. Johns simply owns Fitler in nearly every single statistical aspect that is in the game

Just like his commentary and game, Johns wiull always be the little brother.

2 a piece my friend. Freddy took the Roosters to 4 Grand Finals in his last 5 years. It's not always about points and stats.

Ok the words in bold are questionable.

Johns was a tough little bugger, brilliant defender and often played with gruelling injuries and still got the Knights over the line.

Johns was one of the most consistent players in the comp, he would perform nearly every week he played. As for leadership, take your pick. Every game the Knights played in with Joey in the team, they mostly won. Ive seen him lead some horrendous looking teams with lots of premier league players and young guns but yet his presence alone would fire the team up around him.

I'll say it again, Freddy was an inspirational leader and superb player but he dosen't come close to Johns.

Fitler and Johns were both amazingly brilliant!! It's like the age old question of who is better between the Beatles and Elvis. In my eyes they are both equal legends and would be in an all time best 17.
