Thought the Johns dummy spit would have been nice in there too

I reckon Freddy could still almost cut it today if he was fit. What a player he was!

great video, but there's a nice piece of video that would complete it

SOO Presentation Ceremony, either 1994 or 1995

Freddy is called onto the stage to receive an award, possibly player of the series. All the players are wearing yellow caps given to them by a sponsor (can't remember who)

As Freddy is walking towards the stage (without a hat), someone off camera behind him throws a hat to Freddy, and calls out "Freddy, here's a hat"

Without stopping or even looking in the direction from where the hat was thrown, Freddy puts his hand up behind his head, catches the hat, and puts it on

                genius

A story Freddy likes to tell (I think it was even in his book, from memory)...

Sitting watching the races on tele. Freddy and his mates horses all lost, which none were too happy about. With a few expletitives thrown in, Freddy stood up, and chucked a pen at the screen. A good 10-15 metres, the pen smacks into the power button, and off goes the TV.

The bloke was blessed, and it was a pleasure to watch him.

I can remember that game...was at the SFS, in running the commentator said 'ooohhhh he's stepped Robbie Ross out of his underpants!'

Apart from my dad, he's the reason why I live for Rugby League.

                        Loved every minute of it.

                        Thanks a million.

Freddy was a good leader and player and certainly one of the best but he and Johns aren't even in the same league. Johns was a superior player.

Tell me how Johns was a superior player?....How many times did he captain his state or country? Played about half the time and nowhere near as many games as Fittler either! When Freddy got in the mood and started yahooing and firing his team mates up, you just knew the opposition was in for a tough arvo.... I don't care what anyone says.... I seen them both and i rate Fittler streets ahead of the raver!
