My point is, and as the papers are saying that he is going for a song, it wouldn't hurt to have him when we don't have Pearce. Of course he may not like that but if he can't get a club, he'll have to settle for something.
Like I said, just a thought and thanks for yours.
Fair point on Kimmorley BUT there is no way Orford would play 2nd fiddle in any team. His ego and pride would ensure that.
Kimmorley was always going to be the Dogs established #7 where as Pearce is our gun half and will be for a good while. Cannot imagine Orford playing for the Jets and only playing in the top team when required.
Orford should do a Barrett and play for the Sharks or go futher south and play for the Raiders.
With Scott Dureaux shown the doors, the Knights are gambling on a young untried half from St Merge called Beau Henry. If he doesn't fire, don't be at all surprised if Orford chooses to head north, close to his Central Coast roots .

And here is another one. We get Riddell? I don't see how getting him is of any benefit more than Orford.
Anyway, can't wait till we smash those rorters from redfern.

the big difference is there are clubs willing to pay good money for Ordford and desperately need a half, no one really needed Ridell
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Beau Henry is a gun, but not sure about him coming good straight away because he has had shoulder surgery. Orford to the Knights has been talked about so many times, wont happen thankfully.

Not a good signing although I can see the logic behind your reasoning. I'd much rather we keep evolving the team by picking up as many talented youngsters as we can, and only signing big names to fill glaring holes in our team when we have no ready replacement.

                    KF94,
Don't put too much hope on this rookie Beau Henry....a huge gamble IMO.
Yes he might have set the NYC comp on fire however he's up against the big boys now.
Put it this way, coach Bennett has seen him play U20's at the Drags for two seasons. Saints have not exactly had a "genuine" halfback since Michael Head was pissed off to England in 2007/8.
If Wayne thought so much of Henry he would have advised the powers to be to retain the kid for the future. Instead they will again soldier on with Hornby & Fien as #7's.
Trust me, he will be donning the Knights colours!

Every Dragons fan I've spoken to is devastated about losing him, they reckon he was the future of the merge, still like u said im not relying on him to much. If the shit hits the fan move Gidley back to 7 where we know him and Mullen were successful.

Yet to see a halfback who has performed well in the 20's go on to replicate it in the NRL, it's a whole different ball game. Ben Hunt has figured that out pretty quickly...

Matt Orford is poor man's Paul Green.

                          Chook.

Totally agree Rooster 6. In fact, a number of players in a variety of positions who have been 'stars' in the NYC have struggled to take the next step whilst other players who were solid but not spectactular in NYC have adjusted to the higher grades much better.

Natural talent isn't the be all and end all - mental toughness and the right attitude are just, if not more, important.
