surely it's not recommended to those of us with a y chromosome to also try to get kisses from the players?

If you stood back embarassed, then I feel embarassed for you, and I will continue to have my conversations and get my hugs and kisses off my boys, not because they feel they have to, but because they are great blokes who appreciate their fans and some of whom we actually get to call friend due to spending that extra bit of time talking to them instead of standing back....
But whatever makes you happy I guess......
we moved to the side of the goofs and the players spent alot more time with us . not in a rush to sign somthing and get away. my guess is the respondants to thise thread are in fact ,the w.....s i veiwed pushing kids and other fans out of the way to get a signature.[ woopy i got signature and looked like a d......d in the process].

firstly beguurk, welcome to the chookpen.

Secondly, what are you going to do, there are always people that look like fools and push to get what they want, they are the ones that complain and call the players arrogant because they did not sign something.

it also depends on what fan functions you go to, i mean we went to the members drive in november and we had no problems, we got to speak to the players, have photos, people got things signed. Sometime, you need to pick and choose what functions to go to............thats the key.

            Thats a good point Muzz....

We all knew that there would be a larger than normal contingent of bandwagoners at the pre-GF training session, and thats not saying that beguurk is one, but I can assure you a good many of those there were "first timers" if you will and clamboured and gushed accordingly..........
No I didnt have to.....Shauny nearly jumped the fence for a hug from me........but as you said the November gig was terrific in that the guys were far more relaxed and eager to chat because like us, they cant wait for the season to start.....

You can say wanker on here....we are all big people, and see previous post.....
the regulars do not need to push kids out of the road, we more often than not make sure the kids get a good look in.....
the respondents on here are not the ones you want to point the finger at, because we are the ones who turn up week in week out rain hail or shine......

Have a bigger problem with people bugging players who are out in public (get you pic/sig and move on). That and people who bring about 5 jerseys just to flog them on Ebay minutes later.

I'm not huge on the whole signing sessions but the one I have been to (Luna Park) I found to be quite relaxed and the players seemed to be enjoying themselves. There's always a few idiots but that's life.

nicely rewritten lone rooster, i do concur in fact cringe when i see players attacked at times, i do admit i like a chat with the players so i quietly watch till there left alone and not busy with their mates before i introduce myself for a chat, i show respect and its reciprocated, it also helps that you actually know what your talking about if the subject is footy!

always happy to see a fellow roosters.....

will be at Kingswood with bells on, and Luna Park......

The Chookpen is a wonderful place to pull up a chair, and we have quite a few fellow chooks who travel great distances to be part of the game......

dont let the actions of a few over jealous fans spoil your idea of what it is like to be part of something as great as that......

Indeed mate....and coming up behind players who have never even met a person and hugging/ groping them while they are chatting to kids is one of the worst cases I have ever seen......(player in question was horrified, but too polite to say anything)......but that element always think they can do what they want without switching their brains on first.....

Does that mean what I think it means (friends of Dorothy)? Not that there's anything wrong with that ...
