Sydney Roosters have pulled of our last signing for 2010 by snapping up Jarrod Mullen from the Newcastle Knights on a two year deal.

This morning Mullen officially gained a release from Newcastle to take up a two year deal.

"We're really happy with the signing of Mullen. His a running 5/8 with a solid kicking game as well as a solid passing game" said Roosters coach Brian Smith

"The signing of Mullen will give us more depth to the halves along with some creativity to create us a force to be reckoned with in 2011" Brian Smith said with a grin.

"Jarrod Mullen told us he would like to leave Knights to join Roosters on a luxurious deal, we wish Jarrod all the best" announced Knights senior executive officer Steve Burraston.

I would rather have read Brett Morris has gained a release and will join the Roosters !

I'd also replace 'Mullen' with 'Jarrod' in smithy's quotations because he worked with him a lot at newcastle and so for a player he knows i doubt he wouldn't use a nickname or first name. you always hear him talking about Toddy, not Carney
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Yep I think that was it. The day after I see the funny side but I spent a good few minutes bamboozled by such a signing. I was thinking it may be to cover State of Origin duties but Mullen would be too expensive for a depth player. Hope you get an A for your assignment you little ****er.

                      Got me! Hilarious

Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if we did get him. Sometimes we make the most random signings...

I picked Mullen because it would be a weird signing/scare people :L

I literally crapped my pants when I read this haha, him and Carney would be a brilliant combination if you got him.

He is one of the most talented footballers I have seen but is way way way to inconsistent.

Not nearly as good as Pearce and Carney.

You don't know till ya try haha.

He is deffinately more talented than Pearce but isn't as consistent as him. If Mullo could play consistent football he would be one of the best but unfortunately he only really explodes maybe 6 or 7 games a year.

When Gidley was in the 7 jersey just feeding Mullen the ball the Knights we're unbeatable, he was awesome when the pressure was off, very similar to Pearce actually.
