Koops is off to the Harlequins, just read an article titled "Roosters Star Signs with Harlequins"... I'm less critical of him than others on here but "star?" Max I reckon we have 3 or 4 "star" players...

Question though. Koops, Lopini, Jaubs and Du Plessis must have all been on 55k each. We now have 200k in the coffers. Will this go towards retention, or are we looking at signing some talent? Surely after making the GF there's a bit of interest in joining the Roosters.

Koops yes, Du Plessis would have been on more - SA Rugby wanted to keep him, Lopini & Jaubs at least double the minimum.

You forgot something else - if your replace a player who is on say the minimum of $55k, then whoever he is replaced by has to be on at least the minimum of $55k as well. So if you release a $55k player from your top 25, then it's not the case that you are saving that money.
