Love him or hate him there is no way Koups will be kept. There is simply no need for a second rate backrower or third rate hooker.

NRL grand finalists Sydney Roosters have lost forward Nick Kouparitsas, with the backrower agreeing to a one-year deal with English club Harlequins.

Harlequins, who endured a difficult 2010 where they finished second last, were delighted to have the Greek international on board for 2011.

"This is an exciting signing for the club, Nick is a very versatile ball playing forward, giving him a niche in the game," acting head coach Rob Powell said.

"I've been very impressed when speaking with Nick and he comes highly recommended from the Roosters' coaching staff.

"Along with his ability as a ball player, he is a good runner on the edge with the potential to offload and make breaks and also has strong defensive qualities."

Are there two blokes with the name Nick Kouparitis? I have never heard of the bloke described in the above article. Maybe its the greyhound.

                            • Good luck to him. His poor performances for the Roosters weren't due to lack of effort.
