I was one of the lucky ones who got back into the club after being at the game,it was great that all the people who were on our supporters bus returned quickly enough for the bus to get away and miss the exiting traffic jams.

I tried to get him to come down for the Penrith game because i had a spare ticket but he said he couldn't come down due to track work,i then suggested he drive down and stay overnight but he couldn't because he and his wife were looking after their god son.

When i mentioned i was going to try and get tickets to the G/F he said he would prefer to watch it at Easts Leagues.I couldn't get him to come to any of the games this year despite quite often having a spare ticket.

Hope you do catch up with him because as you say,he is a good bloke

I bet all the 2010 fans purchased all the tickets this mornings.

Thanks for your kind wishes Sharkman.
Hope your club can rise from the ashes next year....we've shown it's possible.

phantom.....a "friend" I haven't had contact with since I moved from Dapto 6 years ago called in yesterday to see if I had any spare jumpers/t-shirts/flags they could take to the GF! Even asked if there were any leftover streamers etc whan they saw my TV room...lol.
Her father worked with Frank....did not say hello to him or ask how he was.

I don't mind the increased support that bandwagoners bring in. For some people, football isn't as important to them as it is for some of us diehards. Being a member and a regular has it's advantages, such as first shot at grand final tickets. I never say no to increased support!

Mate he bloody told me this morning at work that he only had a $100 note and could I not only go and get his Grand Final T-shirts but PAY for them myself until he could get the cash together.

He'll tell you what I told him.

What a dill of a thread this is,as if there is some qualification,of a true Easts supporter. Those of us that support the Roosters,in a light gentle manner, are as much a supporter,as any one else.
As a younger Zephyr living at Bondi junction, the zephyress and I,spent many a happy moment,at the Sydney Sports Ground, and if we won,the night would bring forth the,the possibilities of a much desired frollic.
i raised my Zephyrettes,as Rooster supporters, and now that, grandkids are appearing,I purchase rooster stuff for them.
Thus, what is distinction, between us,**** all really.

get the point about the ones wanting favours but as for the ones who decide to become fans and stick with us that's a different matter ...

I'm not a member but I can respect that membership is important so that the fan numbers for each side are relatively even. If non-members got 1st grabs then I reckon all the fake St Merge fans (who just support the team that's winning) would buy out the Roosters tickets and we'd have no fans there.

Everybody is free to go to a pub and watch the game/celebrate. I prefer it that was anyway because I find it easier to watch the game on TV (although the presence of being there is awesome!!!) Go the Roosters!!!

Anyway the original post was about people leeching "friendship" and being greedy buggers. I hate that kind!

Happy for those who become fans for whatever reason, be it we are winning or just because Roosters are the best.....I fall into the very category as I was not always a rooster.....

It is the favour hunters I am ranting about......those who are only your friend when it is convenient for them.....
