I think this is one of the games the Dragons will identify as one of the toughest. I have a gut instinct that they will not want to run into us in the finals. They played very, very well. They controlled possession and territory and were back to the usual way they play. For us to even be within 10 points at the end of the game was remarkable IMO. If that were any other side in the NRL, they would have been walloped. It felt like a GF out there on Sunday with the crowd, anticipation of the match and it being at the SCG. It was a very high instensity match and we'll take confidence out of this game knowing they threw everything at us including the kitchen sink and we only went down by a whisker.

Ive watched it 3 times and we could have won the game, but I feel we were a bit over awed by the occasion and pushed the ball too much. We will improve.
In saying that the Merge played well, handled the situation better and just WANTED it more than us.
We had to lose one before the finals, and I think we will learn and gain more in the long run by the loss than if SKDs pass had hit Friend and we got out of it with a lucky win.Comment

I see this really as a game for our team to learn from. We got a dress rehearsal on finals footy.
These kids had a huge build up, lots of press, nearly 40k crowd and playing against a team that plays high inensity footy.
It's like learning how to deal with finals footy but with only 2 points at stake.
This game will only benefit our finals campaign.

I think all the hype about the 1975 GF, the size of the crowd and media buildup etc....put too much pressure on a few of the more inexperienced players.
On the day we can beat anyone in the semis because we are all in the same boat at this time of year....injuries have made a difference to all teams.
Hopefully a big win tomorrow night (I've taken us 41-0) will give us that extra bit confidence.
It is, though, Friday the 13th!
