Round 5 of the NRL seasons sees the Sydney Roosters play yet another hot Sunday afternoon clash, and this time against the Penrith Panthers at CUA Stadium. You may not decide to give your prediction yet (maybe wait till after Monday night), but please tell us who you think will win, by how much, what each team must do to win this game and players that should be looked out for. I just hope they put someone who can tackle next to SKD. Im getting visions already of Jennings making him look the fool.

I'm leaning towards us getting the 2 points, but only just. Penrith are a quality side and they will be hard to beat. But I just think we have too much attacking prowess out wide in the likes of Todd Carney, Anthony Minichiello and Phil Graham. The forward battle though will determine whether we are a chance or not. Their pack is quite strong and they have class players on the edges of the ruck but I just think our expansive attacking game will get us over the line.

i was thinking along the same lines aswell. not to mention we also have an 8 day turnaround (9 if you count game day) while penrith have 5 day turnaround. hopefully smith will get them all rested up and have a good week of training. and if we get a couple back from injury, there's no reason why we can't get a pretty good result out there.

I wouldn't let Matt Elliott coach my sons U/17 side, which has 5 junior Titans in it by the way, none of which are my son sadly...but hes goin good for a young white front rower amongst all the massive imports from the islands!!
Aaron Whittaker is their coach who from memory played for the Warriors and the Steelers but i digress......Chooks by 14!

Forget about Jennings, i'd be more worried about Pritchard. He is one of the best hole runners on that fringe.

Jennings is playing with an injury.

Im with you BM, "Prickyard" has the potential to destroy us but Matty Elliott is the coach so its all good!

This match has the potential to be another Tigers-style try fest.

Should be plenty of points in it.

At least the Shire is like...20 minutes away from me.

                          Penrith is an international trip!

                          Anyway, I'll probably go.

                          Easts to win.

I live in the Hills District, so it isn't TOO far away.

I think FPN needs to start on the bench. He is very talented IMO, on the contrary to what many people on here seem to be saying. He isn't soft, he is just at an age where he is yet to know how to use his body to best effect when he hits the ball up. He had a good game on Friday, and his offload is working well too, but I think he is best used off the bench with JWH (when he is fully fit).

Paea is at an age where he, along with Ryles, should be leading the pack. If by the end of the season he hasn't found the consistently damaging form he reached over 2007-2008, he will have to be released, especially if Lima is coming, and Kennedy, Masoe, Arona and Maliota are all waiting in the wings.

Mack, I dont know where you get that FPN is talented, or that he had a good game on Friday, I hope I get to see it one day, but for mine he just doesnt put in. Petero is about 13 years older than him, about the same size, and will run FPNs legs off any day of the week, do twice as many hit ups and twice as many tackles. I was at the game friday, FPN is never first man in a tackle, and still only got involved as 3rd man in a few times. he made 3 hit ups and one offload, which nearly went pear shaped, all in the space of the first 20 minutes, and he looked like he needed an oxygen mask after each hit up. JWH to prop for mine, and FPN to anywhere but frist grade.
