I don't know about you guys but Anasta to me looks slow and should be locking the scrum and becoming a ball runner rather than a ball player. He is a much better player when he takes the line on.
Smithy should put carney at 6 and Perret at fullback, Mini has slowed up and should be kept on the wing.

I agree Carney should stay at fullback.........but Anasta is another story.....he scored a try off a kick, he was good for one minute out of 80, did you see the two horrible kicks he put in???

He clogs up the backline, Ive heard hes a great guy, but FPN is probably a nice guy too, I think we would be better off without both of them.

We took the captaincy off a champion bloke in Fitzy, we should do the same here. Time to bite the bullet, Miles, Pearce or Mini should be captain, or do a oint captaincy like other clubs have.

Im prepared to give Anasta a chance at lock, but not 5/8, and not Captain, hes out of his depth.

I love how everyone figures out that the back line but never answers the real question.. what happens to our backrow?

Why does Myles deserve to lose the lock position... he's been awesome there. Does Gurera deserve to be dropped... Maubs? What happens then when we want to blood new guys like JWH, Symonds, Cherrington, Cordner & possibly Setu?

We've got enough backrowers why do we need to try and make another one out of a 5/8?

His kick off and that beautiful pass he threw to the Bulldogs player in the 2nd half was sheer class.

Besides a massive fifference in class between the two. I will tell you another difference between Anasta and Carney.One was shifted to fullback for a week last year and had a cry and was really shown up in that position The other Although not totally happy about it is getting on with it and having a go there

Noone played well. Not one single player can say they played well out there. Mitchell got close, but even he played ordinary at times.

Anasta was one of the better players, from what I saw. He leads from the front, his kicking is usually good, his passing game is good. I don't know where people get this stuff about him being some gun running footballer, the guy isn't a linebreaker.

The captaincy is a different issue entirely. I don't know who should be captain, I think it's difficult to judge based on on field performances alone, as we'd have to know how the other teammates feel about the player to know if he'd be a good captain.

No question about it, you're right. Anasta played poorly, but he was still one of the better ones out there. He puts in, 100%, week in week out, and that is a value that is underrated severly. One game, thank god, doesn't make or break a footballer. He'll have good days and bad days, so will Carney. Carney made some poor mistakes himself.

Anasta at lock won't work as well as Anasta at 5/8. It will clog up the team, and having another 5/8 in there, if you keep Carney at 1, will confuse everything. We need to remember this is just one loss, the season has barely started.
