Why did forwards take 3 out of our first 4 kicks on the last...???

    Koops took one..
    Mitch Aubbs took another..
and another forward had a kick in the opening ten...

    What was that all about..??

My guess is one of two explanations:
      1) They're all wannabe halves
      2) Smith has them "cross-skilling"

Just like the confidence Pearce, Anasta and others gained in 2008 when selected for Origin.

I love seeing our players in rep games, it normally means we are doing well in the comp. They also get to experience other coaching methods and gain a knowledge about how other top players prepare for games.
Agree. There's a lot of hate for rep games on here, pretty selfish.
I'd love to see as many Roosters as possible playing Origin

And have us field a second-rate team on game day which could ultimately affect our premiership chances?

I'm happy for the boys when they get picked at rep level but at the end of the day, I'd rather a premiership trophy than an Origin win.

Premierships aren't won in June. If our players are getting picked, chances are we're sitting towards the top of the table. As long as we keep it together post-Origin period we should stay there. If we don't, it's nobodies fault but our own.

I would say in general , the more rep players we have, the more chance we are of winning the comp, its not as if its anything new, being available for rep footy has been part of the deal for playing in the NRL for many years, if someone declares himself unavailable thats their choice, and if they dont declare this they they obviously want to be available for selection, I think they have that right.

Like I said, if the boys get picked, I'm not going to deathride them during their rep games. It's a great thing, and yes, I understand that by the boys getting picked it means we're probably doing well club-wise.

And you're right, premierships aren't won in June. They're won by playing consistently all through the year. But hey, looking at our team this year, if someone like Carney or Pearce (or both) get picked for NSW duties, I'm sure we have the depth the cover them while they're gone.

I think I'm just being biased because Origin footy doesn't interest me as much - it hasn't for a while now.

That's why they'll need Carney and Pearce if they want to have a chance at stopping that...
