There is definitely an opportunity for someone in the forwards to take iniative , my opinion was Che played a controlled , purposeful role last year without forcing the ball.

In saying that I think given the long break for him this year , he will take awhile to hit his straps.
I personally would go with a backrow of Guerra and Cords in the second row and either JWH or Napa lock, with Maubs coming off the bench as the utility. I have a bit of a concern with the size of our backrow if it consists of Maubs in the second row with Cords and Guerra at lock, especially against the big packs such as the steroid enhanced $ouff$, and the obviously salary cap cheating bull$cumdog$hit!

Guerra can cause more damage running a bit wider of the ruck.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

              Here's looking at you, kid.

Would love to see him play for the second phase offload when he spIns into the defensive line.

Our front row was one of our problems last year, weakening it wouldn't be the greatest idea.

Guerra has become very good at playing through the middle, however that doesn't limit him, he can always go for a run on the edges if he pleases.

Besides Maubs is one of the best hole runners in the game and his combo with Pearce is outstanding. He's wasted off the bench IMO, in all his games this year when he started he was close to our best.

Couldn't agree more. I don't understand why Maubs is very under-rated and undervalued by some Chooks fans. I am looking forward to hopefully nailing down a spot in the second row on a permanent basis in 2015, espec now that FPN has thankfully been offloaded to Canberra. As you say, he is a great hole runner and has a good combo with Pearce. He is definitely wasted off the bench, and I am expecting McIlwrick to settle into that utility role once Jake returns.

Have to say I suspect we definitely got the best of the player swap we did with the Raiders. As usual these days, Ricky's radar is way off when it comes to value for money.

As for Guerra re-signing, a very nice early Christmas pressie. One of the best I received this year He is one tough and talented rooster who bleeds RWB every time he puts on the jersey.
