I think the case ended up being a he said she said type of case. She said he touched her on the privates, he said he just touched her on the thigh.

Good post. Sacking him is the wrong option. To a normal person sport is a hobby. To an athlete it's their life. It's what they've dedicated themselves too. The nrl have a duty of care to make sure he receives the support and mentoring he needs. Sacking him moves the problem back to society and serves the interests of none.Originally posted by nudge0_1 View PostLet's all remember, Blake has done things that are beyond normal to most. He grabbed a women under her dress, which isn't right in anyone's books. But not supporting him is that the right thing to do? What would it hurt to give him a go? If he stuffs up, and your wrong cause you supported him, will that stop you sleeping? Blakes troubles will stop him sleeping. I'm happy I haven't lived his life, I don't support him as a person but support him as a player, where ever he plays. Blakes and others dramas at canberra are all too common. They need better player welfare, more awareness of the players activities, orientate training to limit nights outs and fix problems before sacking is only option-Monaghan, Dugan, ferguson, carney

Your exactly right.Originally posted by Tommy Smith View PostSpot on, JT.
Like it or not, there are degrees of offences. And Blake's was very minor ... as evidenced by the fact a conviction wasn't recorded.
To suggest that he can't redeem himself in the future is ludicrous.
His misdemeanor was minor compared to the likes of Rob Lui, Auva'a and Russell Packer.
In fact, to call him a sex offender is borderline offensive and smacks of false outrage for the sake of seeming righteous.

I've had just about enough of this crap being trotted out.Originally posted by nudge0_1 View PostLet's all remember, Blake has done things that are beyond normal to most. Men who are sane and operate within the boundaries of normal society understand that you don't randomly walk up to some girl in a pub and grab her clam.
It's not his coaches or his teammates responsibility to prevent this.
It is not the clubs responsibility to prevent this.
It is not the NRL's responsibility to prevent this.
The buck stops with Blake.
He is for all intents and purposes a rapist, and i'm very sad that he is now part of our club.Last edited by Steakface; 12-21-2014, 11:09 PM.

Exactly. I'd be willing to bet if he was to sign with Souths, there would be an uproar here claiming the NRL is playing favourites to Souths for allowing him in!Originally posted by novice chook View PostI suspect many of you would not think that Ferguson's indecently assaulting an innocent woman was so trivial if he wasn't involved with the Chooks.
As said by someone else, the most he'll get from me are small claps. I cannot fully support Ferguson, at all

If you want to get into legal technicalities, it depends on the juristiction.Originally posted by Tommy Smith View PostIn no way, shape or form is he a rapist.
And you're clearly missing a chromosome or two for suggesting as much.
How so? Please explain for the good folks here how what I have posted is offensive to victims of rape. And quite frankly, your statement is offensive to the severity of rape crimes and what the victims endure.
Nail > HeadExactly. I'd be willing to bet if he was to sign with Souths, there would be an uproar here

Is it rape when a girl grabs a guy on the crotch when in a nightclub, or is it only if a man does it to a women, or if a guy pinches a girl on the butt when out? If that is what is regarded as rape these days, then many on here would be victims or offenders.Originally posted by Steakface View PostI've had just about enough of this crap being trotted out.

If junior junior at that kings cross night club, had stumbled a little further in his drunken state, and his hand had brushed the yellow dress girl's crotch, would he now be up on rape charges? The way ch9 portrayed it in the media, it implicated him on suspicion.Last edited by milanja; 12-22-2014, 06:36 AM.

If I was coach or team mate I'd make it my responsibility to deter him from having the chance to muck up. I guess helping mates is my thing. I'd want my best player on the field. Winning a premiership is what they play for. Also he has done is once, a stupid act. Id think it'll never happen again. Rape, wow... They gave a section10 for rape??? Cant say more. Wow????

I guess I will have to cheer louder than usual for him to make up for the self-righteous ones who have never sinned.
Someone as in the know as you claim to be should know that what Ferguson got done for is only the tip of the iceberg of incidents that occurred down in canberra over the course of his time there. The entire playing roster there, especially the senior players, hated him because of how often they had to save his arse whenever he was out on the drink.
Now that he is in Sydney which actually has a media presence and at a club which people actually give a shit about, all that shit won't be so easily swept under the rug.
