Shall we keep this in perspective?

He grabbed a girl he thought he knew inappropriately. He is not Robert "Dolly" Dunn.

I guess I will have to cheer louder than usual for him to make up for the self-righteous ones who have never sinned.

      Spot on, JT.

Like it or not, there are degrees of offences. And Blake's was very minor ... as evidenced by the fact a conviction wasn't recorded.

To suggest that he can't redeem himself in the future is ludicrous.

His misdemeanor was minor compared to the likes of Rob Lui, Auva'a and Russell Packer.

In fact, to call him a sex offender is borderline offensive and smacks of false outrage for the sake of seeming righteous.

Im not one for photos with players, but was looking on at the open day today in canberra, and he was more than happy signing and taking pics with the fans. Very lean and can't wait to see what he can provide on field.

Anthony Cherrington, Kirsome Au'va and Greg Bird all used their girlfriends as punching bags. I suspect that harbors a deeper hatred of women than being a drunk idiot.

In Blake's case, keeping him off the booze will go a long way to fixing his problems. Probably castrating the other three (or not letting quack doctors inject them with Steroids in Bird and Au'va's cases) would fix the problem.

There's only one person on the sex offenders list with the surname Ferguson and it is Dennis Raymond Ferguson.
A Sec 10 is a joke. It's a rising of the court where you are told to stop being silly and don't do it again. Lillian Horler, magistrate at Redfern Court when I worked at Redfern, was infamous for handing out Sec 10s to the local community. Car thieves, Be&S etc. Assaults, all got Sec 10s, to our utter dismay.

I don't know much about the BF situation but if he got a Sec 10 they couldn't have thought it was too bad.

You mean decent citizens who don't go around smashing and grabbing other human beings at will? And there is nothing minor about invading a woman's body in such a heinous and frightening manner..again some of you must live under rocks with no daughters, wives, girlfriends or female friends to speak of. I'm feeling physically ill reading this thread so I'm out for the rest of the year.

Well said, often it is the ideological wankers who make the most noise who have plenty of skeletons in their own closet.

Again, I don't think it was heinous.

It was entirely inappropriate but he's done his time.

Should he never be allowed to play again?

This is obviously a very touchy subject and it would be very easy to come across in the wrong light. I certainly don't condone any form of violence or sexual misconduct, but I do believe that Blake's misdemeanour was on the minor scale.

And so yes, I do believe he deserves a second chance; a chance he wouldn't get if his crime was more serious.

I suspect many of you would not think that Ferguson's indecently assaulting an innocent woman was so trivial if he wasn't involved with the Chooks.

To be honest, I'm undecided as to whether or not he deserves another chance to resurrect his NRL career. But what I do know is that I'd prefer that further chance wasn't with the RWB.

Look at the utter disdain he treated his contract with Canberra. Simply refused to turn up to play and train once his drinking buddy Dugan wasn't there anymore. Didn't matter that they had stuck by him in the past, that meant nothing to him. And he didn't treat Cronulla much better either.

But such is life, like SCBW, Mason and Vautin before him, I'll suffer him wearing our jumper. I suspect the most support he'll ever get from me is pixie claps at best.

Given recent events, I can certainly deal with that.

Let's all remember, Blake has done things that are beyond normal to most. He grabbed a women under her dress, which isn't right in anyone's books. But not supporting him is that the right thing to do? What would it hurt to give him a go? If he stuffs up, and your wrong cause you supported him, will that stop you sleeping? Blakes troubles will stop him sleeping. I'm happy I haven't lived his life, I don't support him as a person but support him as a player, where ever he plays. Blakes and others dramas at canberra are all too common. They need better player welfare, more awareness of the players activities, orientate training to limit nights outs and fix problems before sacking is only option-Monaghan, Dugan, ferguson, carney
