But I wouldn't be devastated about SKD.
Guerra wont go anywhere at this stage , he is loyal to the RWB ( even if they offer him unders )

JWH is an essential cog in the RWB machine, however money will sway him at this stage.

SKD has played some solid footy over the last couple of seasons, however if someone offers him overs he should take it as his time is limited and his position is heavily contested.

Money talks , while a dreamer walks - even the Captaincy won't help us if the figures being sprouted are correct; too good to refuse.

IMO Keep Skids and let Toops go, Toops will be offered bigger coin and isn't half the player.

No player is worth 500k. I don't care who it is.

            I tend to agree.
It lessens what the others in the squad will be getting. If it doesn't, then you have to play catchup with your cap down the track.
And that boys & girls is where the cap auditor has to earn his keep…….or not.

Toups offers more value on the wing than SKD at centre, if we loose one of the two McDonald is good to go.

                The free market says otherwise.

Both will be on the wing this season though and I'm not as convinced that Toops is that far ahead of Skids as a winger.

I think we'll probably lose one which isn't a catastrophe because in my opinion Macdonald has the potential to be, if he's not already better than both as an out and out winger.

R6, I hear what you are saying….BUT…that is where the whole thing goes crazy. Where does it stop? You get one loco throwing big money around for a year or two (I didn't mention pRicky) & then the club has to deal with the ensuing mess over the next few years (both club finances & cap) not to mention the disharmony in the playing ranks with everyone then thinking that they should be getting the same.

Imo, it is a recipe for disaster.

A free market value is not necessarily a good thing for the longevity of our game.

SKD is left winger and would be far better than Toops outside Jenko..

Exactly. As Bellamy once said when asked what Cameron Smith is worth coming off contract.."Cameron Smith is worth whatever he can get".

If it's notgoing to the players, it's lining the pockets of some rich fat prick.

I'd much rather the player take it.

There our only re-signings who will be 500k plus so you'd think it'd be more of a one or the other ultimatum.

If we don't have SKD, Jared or Guerra in 2015 I will have serious doubts over our coaching staff.
Yeah given Canberra's coaching staff, taking $1 million a year still wouldn't be worth it for anybody's career!

JWH is not 20 anymore though. He will be 26 early next year. a four year deal when he is at his reasonable peak of his career and with a club that is bat shit crazy desperate to sign players, I can understand if he leaves.Hopefully we can snare paul vaughan with the money we had saved for JWH.
                              Comment of the year:

Vaughan is a gun. He will be one of the stand out forwards of 2015.

                                Chook.
