Wouldn't blame him if he took the cash, and i wouldn't want props on massive deals either. Think it has been mentioned that the Melbourne Storm model of player retention places a low weighting on props (ie, props shouldn't be worth too much) and i agree with that. JWH was very very average for us last year too. He shouldn't be getting anywhere near a massive pay rise. If he take the money, good luck to him. He is replaceable

We have kept more or less the same side together for three years. That is the premiership window.

We will be competitive in 2016 for sure. We may go close. But unless SBW comes back we won't be a chance of winning it.

2016 should be somewhat of a rebuilding stage, with many juniors coming through and new signings.

By 2017/8 the window could well be open again. If we keep our younger guys but retain the core we'll be alright.

Just to clarify though Jared's staying with us for 2015 regardless of whether he signs with Canberra or not?

I wouldn't worry too much about 2016, if we lose JWH, Merrin will come in.

If as expected Maloney/SKD depart we will probably be chasing the likes of Folau/Foran

I'm more worried about 2015, if the likes of JWH/Maloney/SKD sign big money deals elsewhere for 2016 they might become complacent and their performances might suffer.

They've lost Burgess and Te'o but signed Stewart and Grant who wouldn't be cheap.

And now they're set to hand out a 400k per year increase to Keary, 200k extra for Johnston, 300k extra to Walker, 300k extra to Reynolds and 250k extra to Tom Burgess. Those are my perfectly reasonable estimates.

They don't look like losing anyone.

Kane Evans is showing great promise (for replacing JWH from 2016) during their training runs
