I would have been more concerned with yet another soft win followed by a week off.

If we get passed next week without any further injuries or suspensions we win the comp.

The only time it is acceptable to lose in the Finals... After 26 weeks of hard work.

It's the last wake up call and I'm glad we get to use our trump card because of this loss. Napa, Guerra and hopefully activate a much needed Friend and I feel a lot better against a Cowboys team that slumps in Sydney.

Losing this week should remedy that..

The only thing bad about losing tonight, is that we have to wait 7 days for redemption. I think we will, I think we will, I think we will...

I disagree JT.. whilst it wasn't ideal it maybe a blessing as the boys would be hurting after that loss (knowing we're better than the panthers) and probably be more determined for the remaining hurdles.. We did actually lose that one rather than Penrith beating us through superior skills and if Friend is back next week I reckon we'd be hard to stop from here on in. I'm also pretty sure we'd have been the last team Souths would've wanted to face in the prelim. Backs to the walls now where we actually perform better imo.

Once again you are wrong, It wasn't the loss we had to have. It was a reaming by the officials that was better served this week than in the GF qualifier of GF..

Forget the officials - we list that game in the first half. We didn't respect the ball, the opposition and refused to actually work hard for the win.

                  That's why we lost

So your saying Casty's try wasn't a try?

Casty's try was a try but...

We turned up with the wrong attitude and left ourselves vulnerable.

We also didn't clean up the ball for their last try and dropped it to give them field position for the field goal

Penrith have nothing to lose and played like it. We played like we thought we deserved to win

How many wake up calls do we need this season??

You make it sound like we were guaranteed a win. Maybe that is part of the problem. Souths are currently short-priced favourites at $2.75 which implies they are about a 65% chance of losing. That is how close the competition is.

No team can afford to carry the handicap of ridiculous refereeing mistakes. The refs were deadset making up their own rules last night. Accidental forearm penalty. Give me a fkn break. Just a matter of time before we are penalised for a headclash being reclassified as an accidental headbutt.

Great point, dice. The accidental forearm was a joke and led to their second try.

The refs were atrocious and it's hard to stay enthused about rugby league when it happens almost every week.

Perenara is the worst of the lot so how did he get last night's game?

You are spot on Even Jennings drop ball at the end was an attempt to milk a penalty and try to finish the game off inside the 80 instead of preparing for the long haul of golden point that was looming

I cant though forget the officials who played a blinder

I so hope we meet Penrith again this year we will deadset put 30 to 40 on them In fact if we get their against them and have all hands on deck and are clinical and ruthless and have fair refereeeing we may well reclaim our GF record score

our problem is that our low completion rates have ben low all season and with that frustration combined with the frustration of being over officiated by refs as spoken of by our coach is wherein the problems lie. if we get better completion rates then the frustration will be less so we can play our natural 2013 attitude of faark you refs and the nrl.
