You must be taking the piss I know whom I would keep I am sure his form would improve

Should have send Pearceoff to the Titans instead of Morts. Pity they took the better half.

I know who you would rather keep. That isn't the point. I just don't agree they have similar ability with regards to the skill set a half needs.

I truly hope you're right Ted.

The source that told me about the current "troubles" is exactly the same source that told me Sam Perrett had a major falling out with Brian Smith, and would stand up and walk out on the club within weeks, a couple of years back.

I posted that on the Chook Pen at the time and was roundly criticized for it, yet it proved to be true.

My source is a good one.

Yeah, that was Maloney. Was behind the 8-ball in a few of the forwards runs out wide not backing up. Whether that means he was just off tonight or the incident from 6 weeks ago is starting to effect him now who knows!

You can only beat whose in front of ya.

But look at the games we lost to the big teams this year. The first game against Manly was a farce, round 1 against Souffs was the bunnies gf, and tonight's game was arguably our best game of the year. However, its true that Maloney didn't have the world's best game, and that kick error from Pearce was crucial.

But if they were that bad, it wouldn't matter who we played. There are no easy games this year

Maloney said it himself, "it wasn't Jnr's fault I missed origin, if I was playing well enough I would have been picked regardless"

the rumours of a rift are garbage.

that being said I would be doing everything in our power to lure DCE here in 2016.

Apart from that 40/20, DCE was ineffective tonight

Rumour or not. They were both terrible. A shade of last year.

I only rate manly and Souths as legitimate threats to the premiership and we have lost all 3 games. Whilst we have won most of our recent games, they have been against some very ordinary teams who we have failed to put away.

Well said Roarer. You don't win premierships with halves in the form against high quality opposition that we saw tonight.

I feel that it is important to acknowledge that the forwards, and to some extent the outside backs, kept us in the contest for much of the game.

But it is equally important to realize that if the Roosters are serious about winning back-to-back premierships, then they cannot do so with just forwards and outside backs in good form and with their heads screwed on.

In my humble and relatively worthless opinion, and this is backed up by the scuttlebutt, the halves do not have their heads screwed on and are not in great form.

Even in the games we have won over the last two months, neither Pearce nor Maloney have stood up and produced top form. If they had, we would have won a number of games by 60 points and our for and against would be unrivalled on the ladder...

There is clearly something wrong and it is clouding the form of the halves! If people can't see that, they are not looking closely enough.

I personally think there is time to get it right... But not too much time...

This is a very good point you make, it is good we have taken care of them comfortably, but it would have been good to finish off a few more teams.

If we lose the last two games this season, which are against Souffs and Storm, then we just have to accept we aren't what we were last year. But I'm prepared to leave the jury open, considering the first two losses were very early after a disrupted pre-season, and we played decent tonight
