Geez, I'm surprised some marketig guru hasnt attempted to change 'roosters' for some american ferocious sounding beast..

I grew up with Easts and I would like for it to go back to Easts.

Bondi, at least it's some kind of identification and people would actually use the name... how many people actually refer to us as "Sydney"?

No one at all! I have never heard anyone, ever call us 'Sydney', just the Roosters now.

Bondi has it's positives lets embrace it... but at the end of the day as Chook said it's not the be all and end all what our name is.

As much as i hate the idea, after all the bullshit last season the Sydney Roosters name is one that potential sponsors and new will stay away from.

I still to this day call them Easts / eastern Suburbs.

In the end as long as i have a club to follow, i dont care.

I agree we should get rid of the Sydney but if we were it would have to go back to Easts rather than Bondi

bondi roosters stinks...
if he was going to change it back to easts then ok..
BUT at the start of last year when they were starting that freddys 10,000 or whatever, i think the club marketing "gurus" actually had research that showed most paying members werent actually from the eastern suburbs.
They were from places further into the western suburbs.
Mainly due to the years freddy played here i suppose.
So dont u think it would be smarter to keep the sydney name?
seriously how many new members do you guys think will join because they name the team bondi roosters?

Even when the club was based down at the pavillion in the early days, they were still called Eastern Suburbs.

It's either Sydney Roosters or Eastern Suburbs Roosters........it's as simple as that !

Muzz, it is time.....

We spoke of this a year ago, and let it fall to the wayside, but now we need to stand and show them that they can not just do what they please with our club....

I am sending a facebook event around to all our chooky friends to see if we can get a bit of interest this time around......
