$20k fine is fairly steep you have to wonder how they came up with that figure, maybe more to the story than has been revealed.
hopefully this is the kick up the arse for not only Pearce but the whole squad that is required to get their minds back on the job.
we have struggled up in Townsville recently, will be interesting to see how the boys come out and play on Saturday night.
will be fascinating to see the makeup of the NSW origin side next Tuesday, could be anywhere between nil and 5 representatives from the Roosters, will there be any backlash from this weekends events.
A lot of that 20K is a clear message to the rest of the playing group.
I agree with the penalty. The fine punished Pearce - not the team. If he was suspended longer, the team is punished as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if the nrl came over the top with their own suspension. The under 20s boys got 2 weeks for having 'c***' written on his wrist and the other calling another player gay.
The fines, are they for being at the Cross? If it was for only being at the Cross why isnt JWH fined also like Cordner?
The way I take it is that he has been fined & given a 1 week rest from playing for bringing the game in to disrepute. Nothing to do with being in the Cross. If the same thing had of happened in a night club at Darling Harbour Pearce would be in the same predicament.
Another blessing in disguise before the business end of season
It was going to happen & Pearce put his hand up
Given other players were also on the verge of testicular ego fuelled piss head ignorance
they can now watch the public embarrassment dished out to a senior player
History repeats, once again it starts with the pivotal away game against the Cowpokes
A lot of that 20K is a clear message to the rest of the playing group.
Chook.
There's a famous saying in French that a forumite used in the UK forum when a British woman was jailed for 6 months for a drunken racist verbal tirade of a man on the rail system in London.
I will find it...but translated it basically means; "To warn the others".
I actually think we can win on Saturday. Hopefully this is a wake up call for a few of our players
Oh boo hoo. Im generally positive away from gameday threads.
But I'm also a realist. I tipped our 3 straight losses an 3 straight wins and now we're really up against it with two very tough games given the circumstances.

Never said they wouldnt be tough but they are winnable. Boo hoo.
Would have liked a longer suspension but hopefully this will be sufficient for Pearce to realise that if the Roosters are to win a second successive premiership he needs to pull his head in. I would also hope this message gets through to a few other players who are continuing to jeopardise our chances this year. Teams have a very narrow premiership window - we have a great opportunity with this talented squad to win again but it requires a far greater commitment than a few are currently prepared to make.
.So when do you make your first grade debut .With your commitment to your high horse we should run over the top of everyone
