Ouch...that $20k has to hurt. Sticky fined Michael Crocker a similar amount before shipping him off to Melbourne..oh dear..stay home and drink there boys..you can all afford nice apartments with everything that opens and shuts..Even Willie Mason said he never went to the Cross again after Jarryd Hayne was shot at.
"Be good enough to forgive people but don't be stupid enough to trust them again."
Stood down for one game and fined $20K by the Roosters
Cordner fined $5K
Would have liked a longer suspension but hopefully this will be sufficient for Pearce to realise that if the Roosters are to win a second successive premiership he needs to pull his head in. I would also hope this message gets through to a few other players who are continuing to jeopardise our chances this year. Teams have a very narrow premiership window - we have a great opportunity with this talented squad to win again but it requires a far greater commitment than a few are currently prepared to make.
Yep, but absolutely the right call from bee-sting-head Robbo.
If we win, Pearce will be pumped to get back in and show that the team still needs him. If we lose, Pearce will feel as though he's let his team mates down.
And, as others have said, it will be a lesson to the rest of them.
If he gets cut from Origin, that's quite the financial hiccup he's brought upon hisself.
That seems to have happened at the Headmaster's office this afternoon.
The Headmaster was just shown on ch9 news in an interview earlier this afternoon having met with Mr Pearce.
The Headmaster was as quietly-spoken as ever.
He said that he was happy that ...para; 'the cctv didn't show anything that could go further, and he was happy that it's all over" [and that his star halfback is still at the Club.]
Mr Pearce was shown looking all angry and very unhappy after the meeting.
Yes, imagine having to go to the Roosters Headmaster's office for counselling!
Those quietly-spoken ones are deceptive...they speak quietly but wield a big stick.
The Club issued a statement saying that they and the NRL have a strong disciplinary policy and the event had to take its course before any action could be taken.
Ch9 said that he's now free to play Origin [if selected].
My guess is that the penalty was agreed upon by both the Club and the NRL.
$20k fine is fairly steep you have to wonder how they came up with that figure, maybe more to the story than has been revealed.
hopefully this is the kick up the arse for not only Pearce but the whole squad that is required to get their minds back on the job.
we have struggled up in Townsville recently, will be interesting to see how the boys come out and play on Saturday night.
will be fascinating to see the makeup of the NSW origin side next Tuesday, could be anywhere between nil and 5 representatives from the Roosters, will there be any backlash from this weekends events.
