Much was made about it on 2GB yesterday and today.

The ARL/NRL must've been using a "WW2" microphone, because as he was announcing the team he could hardly be heard from all the static/poor line.
    Amateur hour.

Fans heard him well enough though to flood 2GB with emails about the "Hawks" and "Seagulls".

Maybe he has no real idea of the teams in the game he controls...maybe his eyesight isn't the best and he was 'guessing'...or maybe someone wrote it incorrectly on the announcement sheet he was reading from.

Anyway, the whole thing was a major stuff up.

"Embarrassing" ... Hadley and his crew called it on Sunday after it happened.

Not all...but it seems the NZ National radio station wasn't flooded with howls of protest from Kiwis rushing to defend our troops and us.
No apology was issued by the radio station and its guests...that I saw or heard in the media anyway.

Wonder if our national anthem as well as theirs was played at ANZAC Day and ANZAC weekend sporting events in NZ?

If they're not playing ours, then why should we be playing theirs.

Agree pathetic I took my six year old son in anticipation of the pre match build up and it was lame. The half time entertainment for a crowd that was expected to be a sell out was a disgrace .

Yeh really disappointing, like I said seems to be getting worse every year.

Our home game next year, hopefully put some pressure on the NRL and build it back up to what it once was.
