Ok, just on the Anzac day pregame, the NRL run the Roosters V Dragons Anzac day match, so any decisions on helicopters, anthems, marches, ect are all their decision.

Next years game is one for the NRL to go all out on ! Thankfully it is our home game too, We need Helicopters, Jets, Artillery, you name it, we need it to celebrate such a landmark day.

i thought the nz anthem missing was a bit low? the jets dont do it anymore to save fuel, probably wacounting helicopter rotations too?
the best burn outs were the fuel dumps from f111 , theyve been retired now, so now it f18s , maybe theyre all somewhere else looking for sneaky leaky votes or bombing manus island?im sure its all about money now though! as next year its our home game we must put up something memorable and spectacular? wont be hard to beat the jumping contest from st george though?

Is the Australian national anthem played in NZ at sporting events on ANZAC Day and ANZAC Day weekend?

All I've heard coming out of NZ in recent years has been hatred of our Gallipoli and other Diggers.

'Bludger' remark about Diggers on New Zealand radio angers the RSL

RSL chiefs have been outraged by an insulting trans-Tasman attack on Australia's Gallipoli heroes.
Just days from Anzac Day, our brave World War I Diggers have been branded "lazy'', "bludgers'' and "thieves'' by panellists on New Zealand's government-funded Radio National.

Freelance journalist Josie McNaught said she was "so sick of hearing that ridiculous cliche'' that Australia's national identity was forged at Gallipoli.

Fellow guest, veteran journalist Jock Anderson then weighed in with: "Aussies have been reluctant soldiers at the best of times.

"And they've been essentially lazy bludgers, some of them, and excellent black marketeers, scavengers, poachers and thieves.''

Occasionally the Diggers had been quite good soldiers, Anderson said. "But there is no way they can hold a candle, in my opinion, to the Kiwis.''

Sing the French national anthem instead of the NZ one...our WW1 Diggers [and other soldiers] are more loved in France than in NZ.

I totally agree with you. As an ex-pat Kiwi I felt it was disrespectful, both anthems should have been played. Our Kiwi boys didn't look happy.
They managed to play both anthems in the Storm - Warriors game and that was in Melbourne.

When the Chairman of the ARL Commission, and as such the big boss of the NRL...was seen on tv last night announcing the Australian Test team as "Paul Gallen from the Cronulla-Sutherland Hawks" and "Daly Cherry-Evans from the Manly-Warringah Seagulls" would anything that the NRL does surprise you?

In France they love our troops and us...unlike in NZ.

They were shown on our tv one year...priceless they were/are.

Personally, I don't feel the national anthem should be played at anything bar an international.

The last post should be enough to fire these blokes up. Whack some images and footage from the wars up on the big screen silently while the post is bugled. Simpsons donkey. NZ Maori battalion, the Aussie infantry battalions. Make the last post harrowingly real.

after the last post, the national anthem of Australia would be a let down to our kiwi fire brands.

show them diggers fighting next to each other in trenches. Falling over each other in the Somme. But forging ahead regardless.

Man, some of you guys need to lay off the whacky weed. A NZ national anthem at a game where two Australian teams are playing? lols.

Since when has the NZ anthem been played at an Anzac day match? Some are confused that this was an Anzac day test match.

What next? Star spangled banner if we happen to play a game on the 4th of July.

Gee i wonder if they were playing the Aussie anthem at rugby or netball games over the ditch.
