I hope Smith and his team get the unfit and lazy ones in particular bulging out of their hopefully collared jerseys by the time March 2010 comes around. I want to see these players fit and breathing fire.

Maybe we should call it pre-season trepidation?

A quality young bloke is Maubs, hope the Club have the common sense to hold onto him long term. He could become our Fitzy Mark II if he is given the opportunity.

Something (and someone) else we can agree to disagree on JT.

Another in the list of players we've had differing views on. It keeps getting longer each year.

Why so harsh on MAubs JT? What has he done wrong?
I think he will continue to grow as a player and I'm glad the Roosters have him in their side.

EDIT: Checked the other MAubs thread - you think he's slow. To that I would reply he may be slow compared to Michael Jennings but he isn't slow compared to other locks and second rowers which I believe is where he will ultimately end up.

Maybe he is a victim of the coaching and playing out of position because the planning has left us with no three-quarters.

But I can only judge on what is before me.

                          And I don't rate him.

The consolation is that he is miles better than his brother.

Maubs was never meant to be a three-quarter JT. He was a stop gap placed there because he was more suited to it than any other forward in the roster.

The Roosters' penchant for buying overpriced dud forwards has done Maubs no favours - he could have easily done the same job as them at less than half the price.

The Roosters have opted for style over substance in recent years and it hasn't paid off. Hopefully Brian Smith can stop that rot and actually purchase some quality backs, rather than spending more money on bloody average second rowers who are no better than what we already have.

Both Conn and Kouparitisis should never have been signed for a start.
