Seriously, it's good in theory but it could be a real flop and an embarrassment. We are talking about an NRL competition in 2014 not a golden oldies game. I watched Freddy in the 2011 Legends of Origin charity match, and he looked out of time, slower and struggled with the pace a little. Whilst he will have better players around him, he will also be playing younger bigger faster fitter players. The game and player attributes have changed considerably since Freddy last played, I just hope it's not a publicity stunt that goes bad. But good luck to him, I hope he succeeds.

Brilliant news!! Freddie wouldn't be doing this unless he is still confident in his abilities!
It is win win, the tournament gets a big injection of interest in it and all the young blokes in the 9's squad get the benefit of being able to play alongside a legend and learn directly from the master.
I was already looking forward to the event, being able to watch some exciting attacking footy and seeing how our young guys go. Now I can't wait thanks to Freddie!!The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

I'd be disappointed if Fittler does play in the 9s. I'd much prefer we give one of young kids the experience in his place.
I can't see the point in living in the past. I'd rather embace the future and allow as many of our talented young'uns the opportunity as we can in the 9s. It's a perfect opportunity to give them a game of footy against quality opposition.
It's not as if playing the NYC prepares them for NRL.
