Yup - it's easy to see how you might compare them.

Secondly, as with Sonny-Bill, Ferguson's Mundine connection seems to be something that upsets the Telegraph readership on here.

Personally, I'm not fearful of Blake, and I wasn't afraid of signing Sonny. I do and did think they're both incredible talents, and worth the gamble.

I defended the SBW signing with as much vigor as i'll appose a Fergo signing..

Fair enough. Each to their own. They're not identical risks, but I still think Fergo is worth the punt.

I'll go on the record and say he's going to be awesome wherever he ends up. Assuming that's not the clink.

Of course I believe Fergo would potentially improve any side Pipe.

But I can't come at signing a player to stop Souffs signing him.

We should ONLY sign any player to improve us, not to weaken other clubs.

I had zero reservations with signing $BW. I don't play the popularity card. I ONLY worry about how the team performs.

In saying that he was better than even I hoped he would be.

What I ask is can/will Fergo improve the other players around him, like $BW obviously did???

That IMO is very important. Look at the Faiders. Players weren't happy and a lot of that was cos Fergo wasn't pulling his weight. He only played when it suited Fergo.

I don't see that with $BW, never have. Other players love him and improve when he's around.

I'm fed up with the paying of money and the personal kudos proffered to arseholes with a 'me-first' agenda. Think Carney, Anasta, Mason and O'Meeley to name but 4. All great players capable of making a difference on their day, but men who put themselves before their club all the time.

We won the comp - a major achievement considering the darker times preceding it. Let's not go back there - we've come so far.

I know of many players who have done worse than Fergo and gotten away with it.If he came here and farked around under current regime he wouldnt last a month we all saw that before and earlier this year and many more will flicked before the season kicks in if they dont perform to the best of their ability.....end of story .I say sign fergo and roll with it.

all players before 04 are blessed with the fact that there was no facebook or all the other rubbish around, as well as the simple Camera phone. There would of been quite a few more players in strife back then.

Main reason I dont want him is it is another big name signing to fuel the chequebook roosters theory. With JWH,SBW Maloney Jennings and Fergo, it would be close to half our cap gone on acquired players.

No we don't need him. His just a freak on the field and on his day can rip apart a team.. in saying that he can also rip apart the morale of the team & restrictions related to drinking and partying etc etc

I think the opinion or more like the comment was about pissing Souths and all in that mob off. I'm sure that the club management only look at it in a rational way and wouldn't be silly enough to invest lots of bucks to piss them off but us fans are bored with the offseason and nothing better to get us thru this long hot summer than seeing rusty and co seething.
