  • The Draw - Get ready to be annoyed

So the 2014 Draw is out tomorrow. My mail is that we will have no Byes before Origin. That means three games without our Origin players. If this is true, and we'll know tomorrow I suppose, it seems pretty unfair. Teams with considerable Origin representation usually get two Byes before Origin, or at least one.

I suppose the NRL have got to keep it even somehow?

Morts at 7 and Sonny at 6 isn't too bad anyway.

Guessing that means the bye before the test as we have more Bros than Aussies.

Our many Newly converted Bro fans should be pleased with that.

Lets hope there are a few games up North this year. No point in neglecting the fanbase up there.

I've lived up here 8 years now and we've only ever had a handful of games in that time.

2010 was the best with games at both Sandcorp and Robina.

And the Qualifying Final at Sandcorp as a huge bonus.

I'm expecting zero this season again.

        Then I won't be disappointed.

        Carnts.

Mate I was up on the Gold Coast in July/August. I drove past the Titans stadium and it looked awesome. Beautiful weather and perfect for an afternoon at the footy. I almost considered watching the Titans play the Tigers but I was with the missus so I passed. She happily attends Roosters matches but I couldn't force her to watch those teams.

wait for the tall poppie syndrome to start. the roosters will be hunted and hated in 2014 and im sure we will not be favoured by nein and their draw requirements. I wonder if the drongos will get their 17 Friday home games 1 thursday game followed by an 8 day rest and the 4 sunday games.

im tipping 3 rounds where we play on a sunday then a Friday follow up....and in the words of stsae CARNTS

              It's a great ground mate.

Shame the Titts fans/marketing have no idea how to make it feel like a home.

Soulless. And that comes from some of their own.

I guess these things take time and disappointment. The creation of atmosphere.

Surprisingly when we've had the pleasure of getting a run at Robina it honestly feels and looks like a home ground, for us.

Am I the only one that thinks its a stupid idea to have 4 trial matches on the same day as the World Cup challenge ...

                    Yes.

Why would any other team care when we play our WCC???

They are preparing to try and be the one playing in it the season after.

This is for us. Our celebration and reward for winning the comp in 2013.

I don't give a fark when others plan their trials. And I'm sure they don't give a fark when we play our WCC.

I would gather the players would prefer night matches especially early in the heat.

Personally I would to. Especially Sunday if you cop the Niner game, littered with ads and delayed.

The nrl have a chance to make this a big event ..

And even if it wasn't our team in it I would still find it interesting .

Trial matches are usually very poorly attended anyway. A thousand diehards if you're lucky.

So long as the chairty shield isn't also scheduled on a Saturday then it'll be a good weekend leading up to Round 1 for the NRL.

Of course. I watch it every year. On the Teev. This year is special cos we will get to see it live.

But I don't watch trials every year. Cos they aren't on the Teev, generally.

As 6 said as long as the Charity Shield is on a different day/time it will be sweet. People will watch cos it's a game of footy and we will all be hanging out for it by then.

This is a little more than a regular trial as it is every year. It's a chance to celebrate the previous seasons success, get one over the Poms and to see an extra game for the fans of the winning clubs.

I can't see the relevance to when other teams play a simple trial still.

I'm looking forward to the draw.

                              WCC v Wigan - televised.
                              Foundation Cup - televised?

At least 12 home games, with the possibility teams like the Tigers and St George playing their home games at Allianz.
Hopefully this includes plenty of Afternoon/Twilight footy and minimal Monday/Saturday night in the dead of winter footy.

Plenty of games in local areas i.e. Parramatta, Penrith, Homebush, as well as having a game in NZ almost guaranteed.
Hopefully we play one or two games in SEQ.

                              2014 looks good.
