  • Langi and MacDonald at todays captains run

we are really down to the bare bones with injuries and SBW suspension at the moment, Arona is making his first appearance since round 1 and Langi and MacDonald are 18th and 19th men.

we are 1 backline injury away from a significant problem, with the farce that is the 2nd tier salary cap, Langi is the only available player in our top 25 squad, outside the 17 taking the field tomorrow.

its a shame for the NYC squad playing the top of the table Raiders without two of their best players in Langi/MacDonald.

It's interesting, had Robbo known from the start of the week that LOD would be out to I reckon he would have left the forward pack as is and just brought Macdonald and Napa in as straight swaps but he probably doesn't want to mess with the game plan and structure of the side this late in the week.

Im not convinced we've picked the best side possible this week although it's more down to bad luck than anything else. There's a lot of players who will be asked to play new roles, will be interesting to see how we go.

Playing MacDonald on the right wing would have been ideal. But that's not much experience in your back three. I rate MacDonald and think he would have handled the job well.

Would've also preferred to see Langi on the bench coming on after 25 as a wide forward an Guerra shifting to lock. If all went well with Langi on the right keep him on for the full 55 and give Guerra a rest to bring FPN back on to finish. I think Langi would offer a lot on the right hole running off Pearce and RTS who has a great short pass. Ah well probably not gonna happen.

I like your thinking on this one Yak, has had some very strong performances in the NYC, also gives Langi some first grade experience leading into the finals

If Langi is in our 25 why has he not debuted yet?

Because we have a relatively capable 5/8.

Yeah he was, and outside of that I don't see when he would have played.

I know there are a lot of Mortimer fans on here, but could Langi not take his spot on the bench? He could easily play his role, plus cover other posiitions if need be. In my opinion he is a serious football player, if given the opportunity will shine straight away and show what he is capable of. I think we would be a better team with him on the bench, even more strike power than now. I know, If it's not broke don't change it and we're coming first, but if there is a way to strengthen the team even more so, why not? . Plus despite what you think of them, those big Burgess boys running at Mortimer when he is on if we play them in the finals, scares the shit out of me.

Outside of the Origin period agreed. The opportunity does present itself in this round. Next week with SBW back the moment has passed. His form in the 20's has been good .

After last night the famous Burgess boys have abit to answer too, the Storm toyed with them. I hope Robbo was watching where the storm scored, down the right side all night. I like Souths young 5/8, he looks like a good prospect. Langi was unlucky to be injured during the SOO series, or he would of played first grade, but his time will come, probably from next season on, he is a good one, don't worry about that.
