If the match has been fixed that would constitute a crime right? Why can't the police question Magnay and get her to name that person or else she is with holding evidence? If it is not true, then she should be charged.

I'm a big fan of hers. Good onya Jacqueline Magnay for doing your job well. She obviously has good connections because she was right on top of this two weeks ago (11.9.09) when she wrote the following small story in the SMH:

"Not making the final eight didn't appear to worry some players at one NRL club who ended the season last Sunday night by drowning their sorrows at a brothel, with services provided free of charge by a more than generous landlord and rugby league fan."

I think this is where the game fixing allegations grew legs because people know that this brothel owner is heavily into gambling as well.

The people involved were cery smart, no huge wagers, plenty of smaller wages to reduce suspicion, it was the perfect sting.

Unknown people placing reasonable sized bets on a football result is nothing new.

Questions should be asked as to why the bookies made the Roosters odds on favourites for the game in the 1st place?????

Surely our form didnt warrant that, yet every bookie had us odds on favs for the game.

It was also odd that whilst we were up 16-6, the cowboys were backed into odds on favs to win 13+.

Anyone at the game would have noticed how differant we played in the 2nd half, we were never in the game, then the 3 tries in the last 5 mins, of course it looks suspicious.

Way too many questions remain unanswered for my liking.

I watched the second half again and only one player had what I would describe as a total out and out shocker by his standards.. Many others played to their usual crap second half standards.. The player was not Mason, not Pearce and none of the others people seem to be inferring.. In fact Pearce made a try saving tackle in the last 5 minutes..

Magnay's good at keeping the bastards honest. The 2004 Oasis revelations buried them Bullscum cheating bastards no thanks to her. She got a tip off from a disgruntled former employee and rather than bury her head in the sand she ran with it.
Uncle Nick today urged any player or person with info to come forward. I doubt anyone will so therefore, for the time being, names won't be revealed. However, i would bet my left nut that Stilleto's is/has been a fringe benefit for some.

The Oasis revelations were in 2002 and it was Anna Davies who broke the story, Magnay was still at that stage of her media "career".

I really hope this gets fully looked into, I was also suspicious at the time of it happening and I'm glad there is follow up (albiet from the media) to this issue. It's amazing how we've gone from one of the most disciplined, professional sides in the comp to where we are now. Very dissapointing. I want Brain Smith to take the biggest ****ing broom he can find and start the clean up now, if he doesn't get the support from the club then he should just walk away. He needs to flush any turds that have left a skid mark on this once great club and start over. I don't care if we have to field a team that's made up of reserve graders if that's what it takes
