Actual worth 15mil. Clubs like raiders,sharks,tigers penrith and co would never get a deceng player again, they struggle to already.

The Titans are broke and the Raiders are one of the stronger clubs financially, so there's a few myths debunked.

But I'm not sure why we're so scared to give wealthy clubs a little bit of room to retain top players, being a wealthy club is an asset, just like big junior nursery's are an asset to Penrith, St George Ill, etc. This theory that we need to make the competition as close as possible is ridiculous because it'll get to the point where competitions will be decided based on which clubs are lucky enough not to have a lot of injuries.

I don't like fiddling the comp because by making things "fair" they become unfair.

Origin is a prime example. NSW felt sympathy towards QLD because they'd won 3 straight. Origin was at risk of becoming a farce, so we rigged it in QLD's favour. Now it is a farce... the only way out is by waiting for all the "QLD" stars to retire and natural selection can occur again.

Melbourne... was some $hitty little club down in the world of VFL on the verge of bankruptcy. News Ltd gave it $$$ and a bunch of renowned QLD feeder clubs/players. It has now been a bogey team that wins 80%+ of it's games for basically a decade. This has allowed it to survive but hasn't hurt VFL's status in Melbourne. Again... since Melbourne doesn't breed footy players, league will die in Melbourne once it isn't home to 50% of the QLD/Australian rep teams. Who suffers? Every other team in the damn comp...

IMO if footy isn't meant to be in a town then it isn't meant to be. If this means Melbourne has no team and poorer Sydney teams have to fold then so what?

At least the system will be natural. Richer teams can buy players... so what? You can't force players to stay and salaries will always be negotiable...

Result... when a team's winning they attract more players willing to take a pay cut. At the same time other teams can't afford the players because the prices for the remaining stars are significantly inflated. Keeping your stars in a losing team becomes expensive and wasteful.

This is why I'm not a fan of interfering with natural selection/processes.
