He is all class, and not just on footy field, he is a good person off field as well.

if he stsys next yr, then it should be at fullback or not at all. wingers need to be fast and be able to take a pass, mini has lost the ability in both departments.

its been said before, he is a legend but that does not give him a right to be selected on that alone. 300games is just another number and it is not as unique as it used to be, there is no shame in playing 260 odd after major injuries. if money is a factor im sure they will give him some cushy job at chooks for 200k doing nothing.

RTS to fullback and Mini to the wing would not hamper us at all. Mini has been very safe this year and RTS is on fire. Good enough reasons for Robinson to stick with the current situation.

If the time has come when a place can't be found for legends like Minichiello, well, the time has come to pack up the tent and walk away.

....for this year. I love Mini, but Shek must be fullback next year. He is ready. If we win the comp Mini will think long and hard, and we will win the comp. Mini will be with us for the rest of his life. I can see him helping Fitzy out when he retires.

Just to clarify your position please Tom. Are you suggesting that if you are a legend you should just be continued to be offered playing contracts for as long as the legend wishes, irrespective on whether it is the right thing for the team or not? So there is no time in a legends career that the club can call a halt?

Look at scholes , giggs , Stevie Gerrard , all played over 400 matches. Yes soccer is no where near as physical ,as nrl but they are legends respectfully. Mini is a club legend, one club man, the club should be looking to send this legend out with a premiership

I think it would be a move that would turn the team into a real title threat. Mini from the wing, could pick and choose his time to come into attack, while RTS, would totally transform our attack, he would do for us what Slater does so well and so often for the Storm.

Why would you want Mini in the attack? I must be missing something - what involvement could he have that would enhance any NRL backline?

Yeah Mini offers very little in attack from fullback. If anything he hinders attacking movements with his inability to pass and somewhat loose ball carries. Having said that he has scored a few good tries this year through backing up. That's why I reckon he could still be effective on the wing. I think he's still solid under the high ball (certainly better than Tupou who has been less than hopeless) and is effective enough to finish an attacking backline movement. But FB is definitely no longer the spot for him. I'd even make the switch this year personally. Close to the finals as RTS to fullback is a move that could take the finals series by storm.

This all depends on whether or not the club thinks Nene McDonald will be ready for FG in 2014. If not, and with Tatau's re-injury and uncertain future, then a solid W/FB is definitely required for 2014.

What a champion he is. But I would rather he hang the boots up at the end of this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he does.

He started on the wing (I was at his debut) and would handle it easy. But it would mean denying a young guy a chance. No thanks.

I wasn't suggesting Mini would enhance any backline, I was making a point, that if Robbo made the decision to put RTS fullback this year, it would be a game changer for the best, however, to do this, you must find a position for Mini as Captain, and wing would be great for him and the club. On the wing, he would be very stable and can read defence very well, especially outside SKD, as for attack, he wouldn't let anyone down albeit he wouldn't break any records either but I would be happy for the positional change to take place immediately.

He couldn't play outside SKD on the right as he can't pass right to left. I can't think of any NRL coach who'd play someone on the right wing with such a poor right to left pass. Would love to see RTS at fullback though Tommy - the sooner, the better.

Fairly sure you don't need to pass much on the wing mate. Mini would be fine on the wing. He succeeded there back then on the right wing. He didn't need to have a great right to left pass back then, so why would he need one now?

You don't see wingers pass the ball all that much. Often than not, they are running from dummy half and hitting it up, or dying with the ball once the ball reaches his side of the field.

                                Passing is not an issue

Wingers, in general, are fairly overrated. All you need is a good finisher to complete set moves nowadays. Mini is fairly reliable in that regard
