    This is crucial.

But maybe they're just playing the way refs want teams to play these days?

Either way, a large part of their success is due to consistently lopsided penalty counts and, as a result, possession rates.

I can't see how you can defend against a team like that for long stretches of a match and expect to win.

    They're too big and mobile.

      This.

And then you throw in that kids kicking game and GI.

There are very few weaknesses across the park.

I'm glad they are the front runners personally. Pressure is a funny thing, I've seen better sides fail due to its weight. 03 and 04 ring a bell.

          Facts is facts my man.

I still view both those games as more we lost than they won.

I don't blame coaches or individuals.

We just failed under pressure. Our opponents had zero on them and played accordingly.

Lets hope Souffs replicate 03 and 04.

03 I can cop. Penrith showed up that night and we didn't.

04 I will never get over because of two things, the disallowed try to Mini just before half time and El Farrkwits try after being held for 5 minutes.

the thing is, that Flannery try would be awarded if it were to occur these days. how times change.

Flannery? Remembered it as Mini for some reason?

I suppose he must of been the carrnty who ran the decoy...

Any good side that matches there forwards will beat them. Melbourne beat them, Cronulla beat them. Manly shoud have, only some bad calls got them home. And if they hadn't got 7 or 8 straight penalties against us we would have beat them. Saying that though the NRL are pushing there burrow pretty hard. Its going to be a bit like the '2010 Bennett show' all over again - the media are sickening and its only going to get worse.

next year, however, is the year we strike. With RTS at fullback, Moga free from injury, SBW staying the extra year, a few of our young guys playing well and players like Jennings, Maloney, Pearce and JWH leading the way, then we will be as good as, if not better, than souths.
I agree with this. They don't have a better squad, but the squad they have had more experience playing together and the coach has had extra time to instill his methods into his chargers.

                          Agree with both of youse.

I said so before round 1 but it wasn't heard thru all those who had two eyes on us instead of keeping one on the enemy.

Some can't/won't dare to entertain the thought Souffs really are the real deal for once.
