Souffs have a horror 5 weeks before the semis start, they have a 5 point buffer and if we lose they may be too hard to catch. We can't have souffs winning anything minor or major. When we play them in rd 26 we should be motoring on all cylinders by that stage but I get a feeling that that game could be for the minor premiership, It would be great if we could deny them the minor premiership and the major premiership.

I have to agree, Ray is 100% right on the money here. Monday night will go a long way to seeing this play out, and while Maloney will be a loss, the inclusion of Mortimer as a starting half for consecutive games I believe will prove to be decisive in the result - so much so that it will demand him being rotated thru not only 9, but 6 & even 7 for the rest of the season. And if that's the case, no-one's gonna be able to touch us.

Souths will stroll to the minor premiership as they are the least impacted by Origin out of us and Melbourne.
What we need to do is finish top two so we don't meet them any earlier than the GF, and then hope Melbourne lob on their half of the draw in the final four.
Souths v Roosters on GF day would be the biggest stitch up since, well, the 2010 GF day!

Melba 4 and us 3.
Also I think us and Melba have the two byes the weekend before origin meaning we miss our players only once. Whereas I think Souffs have only one of their byes before origin meaning they miss their players for 2 weeks.

You know it makes sense.

I''ve always been curious as to why the minor premiership is deemed so minor. You would think that being the best team over 26 rounds is more impressive than winning a 3 or 4 games. I understand there's a certain allure and prestige and such, but you look at the premier league for example, where the league title is deemed the bigger prize while the FA Cup is minor. Is it just the traditional mindset or is it more to do with the prize money and prestige that comes with winning in the finals?

Unless something happens to their halfback, I can't see anyone caching them.
Call me paranoid, but I pity whoever meets them in the big one.
It happens to every good side, IMO it's impossible to be up for 30 weeks at this level anymore.
I hope their bad run hits in round 26 and continues for their next two games, boom boom out of the semis.
Currently they are nearing the unstoppable stage.
It's gonna take some damn good footy to beat them IMO.
