  • Maloney busts cheekbone in Origin 2

According to Ten Sports reporter Adam Hawse.

@AdamHawse: Maloney busted cheekbone. Could be 2 weeks. Blow for Roosters ... Maybe Decider in doubt.

Unfortunate. But i have confidence we have the structures in place to account for it

    Mortimer to 5/8th?

Pearce to 5/8th. Morty to half.

Maybe we have a chance. Doubtful.

We should be able to snag a win against St. Merge regardless but I feel we need a W on Monday as well. 6 points including the bye puts us on 28 with 30-32 guaranteeing a finals spot we are within striking distance.

Yeh winning on Monday would be huge, puts a good gap between us and Manly who are 4th.

He really doesn't though, Maloney plays more like a fullback in our structure than he does halfback.

                Is that you Matty?

Remember last year at Brooky. I think Morts played at 6, we would have won if not for some bogus penalty JWH gave away. Morts went on to score. He won't let us down.

JWH didn't give the penalty away it was Takarangi.

Also reports now that it's a fractured eye socket not cheekbone.

                          It was Brad Takarangis 'elbow'.

                            **** I hate Origin.

Origin cost us a Premiership in 2003 when Hodgo tore his ACL.

At least it's only minor; but the annoying thing is he'll probably be right for Origin 3. Hopefully he wont get injured in that game.

Bad news for jimmy but won't disrupt the team too much, Morts will relish his opportunity and won't let anyone down, this kid has a huge heart and his new found confidence will see him win a MOTM award or two. He's great kid.
